davieG Posted 7 December 2004 Posted 7 December 2004 Davie - Post counts are congratulated because it recognises someone's committment and contribution to the forum - It represents a landmark, and perhaps gives encouragement to continue posting for whom it may concern. Afterall, a successful forum is comprised of posters with different styles and attitudes, otherwise it would be a boring place. Quality should be encouraged, but you'll get a preference for quantity on any other forum. 44473[/snapback] Yes but it doesn't take dedication or commitment to post lots of rubbish, witness the swearng topic. I have to say commitment, dedication and cotribution are best portrayed by a well thought out, constructive, thought provoking and humourous post. Not by someone posting **** lots of times. Ok there is a middle ground but too often posts consist of insults, counter insults or absolute rubbish. I've already said there has been an improvement. I recognise your commitment, did I not vote for you in that category, on second thought maybe it should have been the one who should be committed. Now if I was a posting whore I could have used 2 or 3 posts to say this lot. B)
Teeno Posted 7 December 2004 Posted 7 December 2004 I try hard to make the odd serious long debated post, but I don't see why every post has got to be like that. There is nothing wrong with starting a post about what you had for tea or whatever. I used to love the randomness of the OS. Going on and reading Shummy's Doofer and good night threads. You could never be random like that on TB as people would allways have a go at you for drivel. I think there is a good mix on here. We can have a good laugh on here. Like recently between me MB and Ash with the whole thing about my mum and sister. It' all a good laugh, but some people moan about it like the borin lot on TB did. This is the only forum I will make an effort to get on everyday, The OS, TB and TFF which I use aswell I'll only visit 2/3 times a week. I will still use the OS but all but a few of the main bunch are on here. So I think it makes sence for the rest to come here, but people don't want to leave the OS because they fell attached to the place.
Anish Posted 7 December 2004 Posted 7 December 2004 Jankers unless you have lots of spare time on your hands, you'll find it hard to use both boards for any prolonged period. I tried to keep posting on the OS when I first came on this board, but after a few weeks I felt more at home here. This place is quicker, better looking, has more features, and to be honest, doesn't have the same level of drivel as the OS used to. I didn't really like the 'what I'm having for tea' or 'goodnight all' posts - that's one of the reasons I left. But that's just my opinion.

Matt Posted 7 December 2004 Posted 7 December 2004 Yeah i'm doing the same as you Jenks OS is shite at the moment! I did use this forum when it first opened and I was going to leave the OS boards and use FT but my PC fuked up and after then I have made just didn't many posts of FT since for some reason, I know theres no link between my PC fuking up and FT but thats what happened at the moment the OS boards are seriously going downhill, alot of people have already left and I might be soon to follow, at the moment I will stay and post on both FT and the OS.

Jonesy_rules Posted 8 December 2004 Posted 8 December 2004 Janx mate, that's the reason for the "hopefully takin place" footy game in January between the two sides, to build a bridge of co-habitation between the two boards! I've recently ventured back to using both boards, although mainly looking through posts on the OS, posted my first one in a while on there yesterday!! I was a on there until recently and now i've became again! all this towards each other isn't right, lets all get on for the love of our club
