Kelly Out

Come on. The Board were virtually left with no choice in the end. Kelly plundered some results, the fans thought it daft to change the man in charge when things were going well and both were right.

We survived which was our only target in the end last season.

This season we've expected to move forward. I don't think most of the realistic fans expected promotion - just some signs that we were moving forward from the dourist football we've been playing for too long and instead showing some signs of producing the sort of football which might take us towards the top end of the table...and an eventual challenge for promotion.

Right now that's not happening.

I'd say that was about right. I'd have said we were definitely capable of finishing top half this season, and then probably building on that next season and making a push for the playoffs, if not higher.

The sheer fact that Kelly got the team to grind out results last season got him the job and led fans (including to some extent myself) to believe that he was capable of reproducing it immediately this season. As you said, it's not happening, but it should be.

RK did the business, motivated the players, got them scoring goals and winning games towards the end of last season when our future wasn't certain, but when our future was secure in that league for another season, the results and performance levels dipped again. Now that we have a clean slate, we have continued in the same vein of form that we had once our Championship place was secure. This doesn't make much sense, because surely if Kelly has shown he can do it with a side that looked hopeless, he should by rights be able to do it with a clean slate. He has pretty much the same squad, so I don't really see the problem.

I think the problem would begin rectifying itself if Kelly was suddenly brave enough to tell the lads to go out and attack, just to see how they got on. I reckon if we did go out and attack, then we'd have no problem in beating teams and getting a few more fans in the stadium. I've said this quite a few times before, but it's got to be better and more like the answer to our problems than what the managerial staff are coming up with. It isn't even an expensive solution either.

its just nobody takes chances, against colchester there were countless times when levi could have took on the defender and broke away but decided to wait and let everyone catch up and play the safe ball BACKWARDS, you can maybe(!) understand them wanting to play the safe ball so they dont mess up and lose their place next game but thats why ryan smith was so good for us(attackin wise), he took chances and created havoc and set up many chances because he wasnt afraid!! sort it out LADS, what would you rather do, score goals and win games or play poor teams on poor runs at home and come away with what is sometimes not even a point. kelly is doing fine, maybe needs bit more motivation but at the end of the day who has the ball at their feet and instead of going for goal, they end up playing it back to the keeper?(he says very philosofically ;) )

(ill just shut up now!! :D;) )

the board have probably told him avoid relegation so hes going into games with the mindset of not losing. If he was told we expect top6 then he would be going into games going for 3 points.

I thought the board told him, that they wanted an improvvement from last season!!! But maybe now, the objective has changed!!!
