davieG Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 Saw this on the Merc Website and it reflects why we are a shitty under performing club. We have a local newspaper that puts the minimum effort into reporting on LCFC and they can't even get the right photo for a leading story. Obviously a dedicated and well informed bunch of no marks if they can't tell the difference between Andy Welsh & Steve Walsh. As for LCFC we've had no games for two weeks ample time you'd have thought to bring in a couple of loanees but no we have to leave it until the last minute and then fail. And I see the truth is finally seeping out regarding Fryatt's injury "indeed he might miss the entire run of seven matches" Are they having a larf. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- City face a hectic schedule Leicester City's bid to bring winger Andy Welsh and possibly one other addition to the squad ran out of time for today's home clash with Southampton. by Bill Anderson. But the search will go on because City were today entering a sequence of seven games in 22 days, a spell which will shape the next phase of the season. The Championship matches are the priority but the glamour clash with Martin O'Neill's Aston Villa is also something that cannot, and will not, be taken lightly. Next is Tuesday's trip to Leeds on Tuesday by when City manager Robert Kelly hopes to have some additions to his squad.. He said: "It is a hard stretch and that is why we are trying to get a couple in. It would help us because we have got so many important games in such a short period of time. "We have had this two-week break but now we are playing every midweek for the rest of the month. We will try to get through them without any injuries but that is be a big ask. Patrick Kisnorbo comes back from suspension after today and that will help us but it is still a lot of games." With knocks to some of the more experienced players, teenagers such as Levi Porter and James Wesolowski have been thrown into the fray. Kelly praised his young talent and said: "They have done well and they will get better but I do believe if you are expecting them to play 40-odd games, that is a lot." The return from injury of midfielder Strephen Hughes is a bonus but striker Matty Fryatt is still a long way from making a comeback. He is out for a minimum of two weeks and indeed he might miss the entire run of seven matches. That is one of the main reasons Kelly is working so hard to ease the pressure on his stretched young squad with loan deals.
Katy Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 Im not in the slightest bit surprised. It's Tigers first, LCFC second with that lot. As for the loan situation it's quite clear to me that no one at the club actually gives a stuff about not facing another relegation battle this season.
ithuriel Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 my thoughts are that they struggle by and the club treads water because the poeple who run the club really have no idea how to run a successful football club. there are those who will defend them and ask if anybody here could do better but i doubt anybody could do worse and on over a hundred grand a year either. this club is in decline and the present board cannot or will not turn it around.
The People's Hero Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 It strikes me as a bit like when we were getting a new manager in, there's a lot of hustle and bustle and activity, but it's all a bit lacklustre and mis-directed and we end up panicking and doing something rushed at the last minute.
Cheese Me Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 What a joke - the whole set up is ridiculous, can't believe we couldn't get our finger out to sign a couple of players in time and the kind of coverage we get just sums up the state the whole club and situation is in.
