willy37 Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 if a poll was to be carried out for fans of championship teams. who do you think would come out as best/ worst & home/ away. i think best home prob has to be sunderland. (now) worst, well birmingham was pretty dire as for away fans, again maybe sunderland for pure volume of fans and worst.... who knows
SystonFox Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 last season sheff wednesday were pretty quite at the walkers but thats cos we buried them in the 1st 10 mins? birmingham didnt even squeak all game, even when they were 1 up! covs home fans seem quite loud although that could be as its a local derby and they hate us. i hope we seem loud to alot of clubs.
Maybes Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 It depends on many situations at the clubs. I.e The support for the manager, how the team are doing.
Guest Gist Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 West Brom were loud I thought when they wanted to be and I was quite surprised at the volume at both Palace and Southampton away last year.
Ultra Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 Most sets of fans have good and bad days. Sunderland fans were outsung by us at the Stadium of Light this season. I'd say Norwich and Cardiff were among the best, relative to size, and Crystal Palace among the worst.

Cov's away support is pretty poor though, and has been for a long time.
Tommeh Posted 16 October 2006 Posted 16 October 2006 Sheff wed, Derby , Preston and Ipswich were all pretty poor last season. Not much was siad at Luton this season. Brum would have been shocking (if we hadn't been there ) Sunderland brought 7,000 to preston on saturday and got stuffed 4-1 still great support though
gatesheadfox Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 I'd say Norwich and Cardiff were among the best, relative to size norwich were awful when we played them last season. cardiff are always loud as far as i know. teams like sunderland get good support until the games start seriously slipping, then they fill up the seats that were empty at st james park on sunday
OBO Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 I actually thought Wednesday were really loud for about 10 minutes until a MDV double shut them up at the Walkers last season! Reading were had the best away support as far as I can remember, although I don't remember them being that well supported when they were rubbish! Wolves brought the worst support all season I thought, literally not a single song the whole match Wednesday's home support is pretty good. They seem to get pretty big gates and make a fair bit of noise even though theyre absolute shite
Floating Fox Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 Southamton and Hull have to get my vote. I wait to see Cardiff. Wolves probably are the worst when i Have been at there for home fans.
PAULCFC Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 At the walkers this season Southend was good, considering the size of the club.
Mad Dog Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 I think, sad but true, that we would come out as having the worst vocal support at home in the league. How tragic considering how good we were only a few years ago at Filbert Street.

How tragic considering how good we were only a few years ago at Filbert Street. not a chance of that, we may be quite poor but i can assure you there are many worse than ourselves
lcfc_jme Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 We aren't the worst, but if there was a league table, we'd be bottom 5 material for sure
Tommeh Posted 17 October 2006 Posted 17 October 2006 We aren't the worst, but if there was a league table, we'd be bottom 5 material for sure no chance there mate top 10 I'd say and I'm not trying to be biased. Brum preston, wolves, luton, plymouth, burnley, leeds, stoke and QPR all at home are much worse than us.
