Foxello Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 Apparently( according to RL) the Airport is going to drop the 'Nottingham' part and go back to EMA! East Midlands Airport, nice to see you again! Kick in the teeth for Nottm though I knew it would never work out, nice to see they have used common sence for once! No coincedence that twat Graham Keddie left a few months ago( NEMA manager and tosser who decided to rename it)
Foxello Posted 19 October 2006 Author Posted 19 October 2006 You got as Link for this ? ? ? No afraid not. But it was on RL earlier. Try the RL website, that might say something. Not clever enough to link website's, i'm a newbie you know
Rincewind Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 TBH I've not heard it called Nott'm East Midland Airport much. Heart FM de but the odd times I've had Leicester sound on they've missed the first part out. Besides being misleading it's a bit of a mouthful to say.
Foxello Posted 19 October 2006 Author Posted 19 October 2006 Here Cheers mate. I'm a bit of a technical retard
davieG Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 Cheers mate. I'm a bit of a technical retard Don't know about technical

Heart FM probably do because they come from Nott'm. Although RL call it NEMA, must be some sort of legal requirement.
Katy Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 It had no right to be called nottingham East Midlands Airport anyway. The damn place is in Leicestershire and it's administrative capital is in Derbyshire - cheeky meffs!
Steven Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 It had no right to be called nottingham East Midlands Airport anyway. The damn place is in Leicestershire and it's administrative capital is in Derbyshire - cheeky meffs! What is a meff?
Foxello Posted 19 October 2006 Author Posted 19 October 2006 It had no right to be called nottingham East Midlands Airport anyway. Well according to Keddie, Leicester and Derby were'nt well known enough Forgot to mention we are the most multicultural city in the Europe, have the biggest rugby club in the world(sorry Tiger dissers) and we are generally well known abroad. Especially in La Manga......
lookwhaticando Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 It had no right to be called nottingham East Midlands Airport anyway. The damn place is in Leicestershire and it's administrative capital is in Derbyshire - cheeky meffs! Spot on. I was born just around the corner from the aiport, and I'm from Leicestershire, so it must be too. I fail to understand why you'd want to link it to a single city in the midlands anyway - East Midlands describes it as covering the East Midlands area. Name it after just one city and it may seem less important or it serves a smaller area. Only in the case of London does this strategy work (Luton and Stanstead come to mind - their low-cost airlines call the airports London-Luton and London-Stanstead so people think they're actually flying to London from abroad, not some little town well outside the city). What is a meff? I imagine it's a polite-ish way of saying "twat" or something along those lines. Edit: Apparently not! "Noun. A scruffy, unkempt person, and consequently an objectionable person. [Liverpool use]" Slang Dictionary We've a scouser in our midst! Well according to Keddie, Leicester and Derby were'nt well known enough Forgot to mention we are the most multicultural city in the Europe, have the biggest rugby club in the world(sorry Tiger dissers) and we are generally well known abroad. Especially in La Manga...... Oh dear. Probably why it wasn't named Leicester East Mid...
Katy Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 I thought the term 'meff' could do with an outing, used to say it loads at school in a sort of homage to Brookside
lookwhaticando Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 I thought the term 'meff' could do with an outing, used to say it loads at school in a sort of homage to Brookside So you're not a real scouser, just an honourary one thanks to endless Brookside watching?

Leicester Lass Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 Does this mean we won't have any more advertising for Nottingham East Midlands Airport at the Walkers?
lookwhaticando Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 Does this mean we won't have any more advertising for Nottingham East Midlands Airport at the Walkers? If the name change goes ahead, yes. Happy Days.
