The person who wins it won't be thinking that :P(If someone actually ever wins it)

Maybe...

Not sure I'd like my life ruined like that :P

Winning £100 million is ruining your life? :o

I'd like to see what improving your life would be :P

(Maybe I misread what you were trying to say and i'm looking very silly now:P)

Many ways winning £100 million could ruin your life...

a) you could lose your ticket! (and not be able to redeem the money. You would hate yourself, or your family, or your dog, forever and ever)

b) you actually get the money and your life changes. You lose all your friends because now they expect you to be buying them rounds all the time. You leave your wife and family and fancy yourself as a bit of a millionaire gigolo. You become a lazy sod as you don't work any longer and your brain goes into mush. You start doing drugs and feel you should be happy but you are not.

Not sure which one is worse :P

Not one single number :(

No winner tonight.

Next week's estimated jackpot is £100,000,000 ( *videprinter-style* one hundred million pounds)

I'd love that. Judging by the prudence shown by the Euro(millions)sceptics in this thread, I'm going to get a bunch of tickets, as no-one else is going to enter.

I'll PM everyone £20 when I win. Thank you card not necessary.

Then I'll give our Board something to chew over.

Yes, rollover again, I'll have another go next week! :D

doesn't matter how manny tickets you buy the odds are still 76m to one for each ticket. you have more chance of being hit by a herd of elephants. :D Well maybe not a herd.

As I said, human understanding of stats is generally lacking :P

If you buy 4 tickets, surely you have a 4 in 76 million chance of winning though? :P

You probably mean... "4 / 76,000,003"?

which, for all intents and purposes...

is basically the same as 1/76,000,000

Where does the extra 3 come from?

Not sure how EuroMillions works...

just working on the assumption that the "chance base" would increase too...

Oh I was guessing that was the amount of possible combinations of numbers ?

Filbertway is correct, the 76,000,000/1 is the possible number of combinations available to draw.

You chose 5 out of 50 numbers, then 2 out of 9.

Odds: 1 in 76,275,360

Derived by: Odds of gettin 5 in 50 = 2,118,760

Odds of getting 2 in 9 = 36

Therefore 36x2,118,760 = 76,275,360

So if he buys 100 tickets, he now owns 100 out of the possible 76,000,000 combinations!

He can guarantee a win buy buying ALL 76 million combinations, at a cost of £114,413,040 !! Easy money!!!

Just wait for a few more rollovers then :P

Then take out the biggest loan ever.

But you cannot be guaranteed a big enough win, can you?

I mean, not if more people win?
