Bus Lane Posts

a brilliant way to stop people driving thru bus lanes to evade traffic, much better than cameras as this actually damages someones car.

its been done in manchester and seems to be working. just watch this short video to see why its a great idea

Thats quality, but has to be the most stupid idea going - the second car had a baby in the back!

What would happen if they went wrong - got stuck 'up' or something - imagine the traffic chaos!

Why can't they just do like in London (i think!) whereby cameras are positioned and can automatically register numberplates of cars in the zone!

there are plenty of warning signs and you can see the family car go for it to try and beat the posts so they only have themselves to blame. cameras do a trick but nothing is ever done.

Maybe the idiots in the front should have thought about the kids in the back beforehand.

that's brilliant. drivers like that are the scum of the road, it's good to see them get screwed.

No the scum of the road are bus drivers - i cant stand it when they give you 5 secs to get on or off bus.

you could even see it in the first clip, the guy barely got off the bus when he was moving!

Saw a driver do that top an old woman and she feel off a bus in Leicester City Centre and i bet she broke something. If that was my gran i would have shoed the c***

Re: Bus Drivers

I hope the driver of the (early) 9.45pm 84 last Tuesday was reported. :@

Serves them right. Idiots.

Indeed. If they gave a shit about the safety of their kids, would they have followed so close behind the bus to begin with?

Why what happened?

He sped off up Aylestone Rd instead of stopping and letting the 20-30 people flagging him down on.

We were lucky; he only stopped because I jumped in front of the frigging bus. And he was a good 5 minutes early. "Avoiding the football traffic" no doubt. Next time Arriva tries promoting its buses for the footy.... :@

They ought to stick those posts all over the gaff...motorways, A roads, B roads, farm tracks...everywhere. Then every journey on the bus would involve a good laugh and take my mind off the sodding bastards that think it is clever to smoke and share their R&B on their phones.

Maybe buses could be fitted with similar things that would spear annoying little tits.

Who exactly CAN use "bus lanes"?

- Buses

- taxis

- post vans

- what else?

In any case, the list seems to include quite a few items... (not just buses)

Time to call them something else, methinks...

Cycles.

If there was any way of stopping them from running me over on the footpath....

Noticed this normal car happily speeding on the bus lane to avoid traffic lights/roundabout the other night.

Surely there should be cameras on bus lanes and an automatic fine for people behaving like that?!?!?

There is in London. Some bloke called it a tax, and the Police were making money etc. My argument to him would be, if you don't do it, you won't be fined. <_<
