Mark Posted 28 December 2004 Posted 28 December 2004 Levein basically said, the player's got carried away with putting some good passes together, and were trying harder than they should have been in going forward trying to score a goal. And so United scored. WE should have been sitting back trying to get a point. Well all i can say is, 1 goal in 4 games, 0 wins, and 1 point.
SilverFox Posted 28 December 2004 Posted 28 December 2004 Well all I can say is that this is an utter disgrace. No commitment, no spirit, no passion at all. When MON was in charge we were strong - Izzet, Savage, Lennon, Heskey, Colleymore (for a while at least), Elliot and Taggart in their prime. Now we have nothing, no commitment or drive. The worst thing is that what we were has been undone in 4 years. 4 years!!!! Sorry for the rant but I feel so bitterly dissapointed, and If I had the power very few of those players would be allowed the privilage of putting on the great Leicester city shirt. I feel sick, because the only word I have to describe our recent efforts is poor! Just plain poor! Things can not continue also the way they are at home! At the walkers we are churning out relegation form. Its all well and good saying weeks ago that it has to be changed...but what has changed about it. The players on the pitch still don't achieve, they still don't look like they care! Its disgusting that they are allowed to continue! I don't blame Levein, I blame the crap has has to work with....However, we must now be careful...we are only 8 points off relegation. And if you don't think it can happen on our current form you'd better wake up. All I know is that what we were is gone. We are not a MON team, we aren't even a Brian Little team...Its back to the way it was before Little took over. Leicester are once again...Sh*t!

rotherhamfox Posted 28 December 2004 Posted 28 December 2004 I went to the rotherham game on boxing day, that was awful, today was even worse. Theres just no desire or fight in the team what so ever, it was pretty embarrasing actually to see your side look so poor. We just never looked like scoring, sometimes it tends to be over used that cliche but it really does apply at the minute, not one chance today. Theres nobody in the team that seems to want it, just dont seem bothered. The team on the whole is very poor but Makin is actually a joke.

The team on the whole is very poor but Makin is actually a joke. 50082 At one stage tonight on the way home the players' coach pulled up alongside our fans' one and I saw Matt Heath and Lee Morris just sitting there talking, they didn't seem too bothered. Then we arrived at Filbert Way and the players jumped into their BMWs/Mercs etc without waiting to speak to any of us fans on the buses. Even Levein zoomed past us without a word, not even an acknowledgement that we'd spent a fair bit of cash to be stuck in traffic for three hours before the game, watch an absolutely dire performance and then get stuck in more traffic, although not as bad, on the way home. No regard for the people that pay their wages. Gillespie should be fined 2 weeks wages for his sending off because he's going to miss two matches now and that's how he supposedly earns his money. He's also done less than a day's work today so he shouldn't get a penny. The best we could hope for was a 0-0 after that as we can't score with 11 men.
Ash Posted 28 December 2004 Posted 28 December 2004 I'm just hoping CL bring's in a few loan signing's in January because the players we have now are not strong enough for promotion, they don't seem to want it for the club or the fan's ! Connolly seem's the only one who tries his hardest week in week out for us !
Scow Posted 28 December 2004 Posted 28 December 2004 I'm sorry, but that's a pathetic response by Levein. The players did not want it! It was painful watching that shower of shite. Yes, I know it was going to be difficult playing with 10 men, but the players showed no desire or passion. A few decent passes in the centre of midfield won't do anything if you can't retain the ball in the attacking final third. This is horrible to watch - A team full of passionless, useless wankers churning out rubbish like that. I would have accepted defeat if I had thought the players were actually putting some effort in, but once we lost the ball, we didn't seem bothered. Makin should not only be dropped, but shot too. He is awful, he didn't seem bothered. One incident of play summed his performance up in the second half, he threw the ball to their player, and just shrugged his shoulders without a care in the world while walking back in to his own half to defend.
davieG Posted 28 December 2004 Posted 28 December 2004 Come on guy's, you're all bitter and twisted it was much better than against Rotherham -so says Gemmill Scot Gemmill says that City must continue to show the right spirit and determination on the pitch if they are to climb the Championship table. The former Scotland international midfielder was named in the starting line up for Leicester's clash against Sheffield United, as Craig Levein's men attempted to bounce back from their disappointing defeat to Rotherham just two days before. But despite another defeat, Gemmill confirmed the Foxes would continue to give their all for the second half of the campaign. He said: "This may sound very stupid but I am going to say it anyway. The manner of the defeat against Sheffield United was better than it was against Rotherham. That is just about all we can take from the game. "I felt that we fought hard at Bramall Lane. Some people may think of this as an excuse, but we were down to 10 men so we were up against it. "Keith knows he shouldn't have done what he did and we have paid the ultimate price for it. "Of course we are disappointed to lose again, but the manner in which we lost was a lot more dignified. "We pretty much had our backs against the wall after Keith got sent off. I'd have to be honest and say that they had the better chances when it was 11 versus 11, but we were away from home and the game hadn't completely settled down. We always had a chance to do that later on. "The one good thing for us is the games are coming thick and fast. If you had to wait seven days between all these games at the moment then it would certainly be difficult. "We have got a tough game away to Burnley on Saturday and that certainly isn't going to be easy after they have beaten Wigan. And then we face another tough test against QPR on the Monday after. But these are games that we must use to get back on track. "I think that if we show the same attitude and desire as we did against Sheffield United then we are good enough to win those games. "It is obviously hard to talk about our hopes of getting into the play offs after back to back loses. But there are still 20 games left to play so we still have to believe we can do it. We need to go on a run and amass as many points as possible."
Hullfox Posted 28 December 2004 Posted 28 December 2004 Gemmill was clearly a special needs child. 50151 Do the team turn up to matches in one of those council window lickers buses?
davieG Posted 28 December 2004 Posted 28 December 2004 To be fair, Scott Gemmill is talking bollocks.50152 To be more acccurate patronising bollocks.
Anish Posted 28 December 2004 Posted 28 December 2004 Yet more BS coming from a City player in their post-match interview

I want them to lose sleep after losing a game...because it should matter! When I think about Steve Walsh and players of his ilk, who would have sweated blood for the shirt, reading this Interview makes me feel ill. Gemmill seems pleased to lose, because it was done with dignity (allegedly). Well I don't think there was anything dignified about it. If you are happy to go down to teams you should be beating then you should never have left forest! Doubt your old man liked going down with dignity (well at least thats what your mum told me ) But seriously, its a disgraceful defeatest approach and one that should not be rewarded with a starting place. If I was manager of this club, i'd be thinking of the best way I could use the wages we are currently paying you. Trouble is I think there are far too many of Gemmills sort at the club. I think the majority would be just pleased to avoid relegation and pick up their wages, whilst the rest, wouldn't even be bothered if we were the only club in division 1 picking up parachute payments. My point is that I don't think there are enough players at this club hungry for promotion...and why should they be, not only do they have no sense of what it should mean to be a LCFC player, but they also know that if we did get promoted, there would be no place for them next year. If you knew your time would be up, would you be motivated! Sort yourselves out you bunch of freeloaders.
Little Nicky Posted 29 December 2004 Posted 29 December 2004 It is bad when a team loses and then says ah well at least we played btter and lost than we did the game before and lost, I can't see where we gofrom here, certainly if we can't scrape together 30k, I think thats bollocks personally! The board cud muster enough to mount an approach for Kirk alledgedly, so why not for Maybury if he's gonna kick sum butt in our defensive line! By the way, has anyone got a clue when Walker iscoming back, cuz if it's not soon It'll piss me off, he's sponging off the club with this mystery injury, while we have to pay another player to do his job, why cant he play and get a defender to take the goal kicks huh? Taylor won't be here much longer I'm guessing cuz he'll see sense and jump ship, this club frustrates me so much, I wonder why I support them at times I really do!
SilverFox Posted 29 December 2004 Posted 29 December 2004 I think you are probably like me matt. You support Leicester because although they are never going to have money to throw at the best players in the world, and although they are never going to win the Premier League...you know they will never give in, and that at some stage the grit and determination they show will pay off, and you'll be there to witness something memorable, something that means something. It could be Steve Claridge's shin, or an injury time Heskey goal against Arsenal. Everyone has there own special memory. One of mine is Tony Cottee against Man U. Thats Leicester, and thats when it makes all the sense in the world to support them. Sadly, thats gone now. There is no fight, determination, or grit. And above all else that is why we are a frustrated group of fans...the players have no spark. That girl you thought was the greatest you have ever met, that girl who always surprised and delighted you...now just p*sses you off! (sorry for the poor metaphore)

Stand by your woman...she might buy some sexy new underwear some day soon This has to stop now!

SilverFox Posted 29 December 2004 Posted 29 December 2004 Not sure Maybury would look good in sexy new underwear. Excellent discussion Silverfox and others 50194 If we could get Maybury to play for us I personally don't care what he wears :w00t: Its not just that though, we need a goalscorer and a leader in the middle of the park. Someone who can get the players motivated, and wanting to win. We haven't had that kind of player in a long time. No offence to Nalis, Gemmill, Gudjonsson, or williams (well actually offence to Gemmill and Gudjonsson) but they are not leaders. Oh and thanks for the comments, we have had a good debate on this thread
