Despondent?

Football is about anticipation and relief; the wait for the goal you hope for, you shout for. Saturday is about the feeling of belief as you leave the house and spending the journey slowly immersing yourself in fandom. Getting to the train station and feeling the air hit your cheeks as you walk off to the pub for a couple of pints seasoned with conversations of hopes and expectations. The pie taste, the applause warming your hands and the smile of winning.

My season ticket is sitting just next to the keyboard...and I can't remember being less keen to go to a game. I am questioning whether its even worth the price of the train ticket tomorrow.

I see a train journey delayed, pints that are only there as an anaesthetic and 90 minutes screaming abuse at Josh Low. Two halves of holding my head in my hands interspersed with a couple of vigorous gestures at the ref...or Elvis...or Kelly...

I know that come eleven o'clock I'll be getting on the train ~ and that's probably the bit that depresses me most.

****ing football.

You have hit the nail on the head there with the feelings of most lcfc fans. Luckily for me I pulled out of buying a season ticket and plumped for the humble membership. Hope all you more loyal fans enjoy yourselves tommorrow

I gave up my season ticket when

1) I was broke and had no money to actually buy one

and

2) Scraping the money together didn't actually seem worth it.

It's a shame really when you feel you'd much rather do something else with your Saturday, but you have to go to the game else you're just wasting money.

Football's mostly disappointment - which is as it ever was, and how it should be. But even in a dire run like this, I love going to the match.

Come 2 o'clock, I'll chase whichever kids are going with me into their football gear. Sometime later, depending on which of the feckers it is, we'll drive down to Freemen's Common. Bit of chat with the charity collector, maybe catch up with someone I know on the walk to the ground. Catch the growing sense of anticipation walking down. Meet up with a few mates for something labelled beer in the stand. Walk up, a few words with the people that sit near us. Feel the anticipation growing. When the match starts, enjoy, even now with this team, the occasional glimpse of something I could never do. And when it's really bad, enjoy my mate's even more visceral sense of despair.

Plus tomorrow, there's always the chance of seeing Dodds. Will he be any good?

I'd not want to miss it.

It's so weird how much football takes over your life. I know it does mine. Without Leicester my life would be easy and boring. ;)
