This place has gone downhill since I started getting moderated.

It's like modgate, only much, much more serious.

It's the same with all great dict... erm... moderators:

In a first step, they can convince a majority to vote for them.

Then, once in control, they change the rules in their favour.

Speak of conspiracies.

Thirdly, o popo sition is eliminated.

Followed by riots.

A war.

Dr. Guillotine. Or lifelong banishment.

Some memoirs.

Death.

And in between, a few good lays.

You'll get there, James. Step by step. ;)

I admire your perseverance.
