Fleckney Fox Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 we are all told that the deal is going through and it is just a matter of time, well we have hit another delay which could mean rk will miss any targets that he had on his wish list. well i say the clubs directors should show some face and stump up the redies now to give us half a chance of getting something out of this boring season on the field and when mms money comes in they could repay the debt of to whom it came from. it isnt rocket science, your views please..
Finnegan Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 I think we all need to accept that we're not going to get promoted this season and move on. We've STILL got a crop of promising youngsters and a fair few players with quite exciting potential, we should enjoy the highs of the season still to come.

Babylon Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 Yeah lets go out and spend money we don't have on the off chance the deal actually goes ahead. It's not rocket science to work out this idea isn't feasible.

Finnegan Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 Is he actually? The "point" is that no one, especially a football club with large hidden debt, does business with money they don't have. No Mandaric pre-Jan 31st, no transfers. End of.
Babylon Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 you are missing the point... Care to explain your point then, as my post answers exactly what you wrote. THERE IS NO MONEY TO SPEND.
Fleckney Fox Posted 31 December 2006 Author Posted 31 December 2006 im just fed up with all this behind the doors crap,my point was that the board if they truely were convinced this deal was going through they could at least stick there necks out a bit. i know what you boys is saying makes sense its just going to be so frustrating seeing all these players moving around when all we will be doing is fending of the vultures.

But nobody is sure the deal will go through, they certainly have never said anything like that. Only people like Bill Anderson have said it could be done by the end of the month, but he knows nothing.

As Jon Barber described a week or two ago it is in a kind of delicate position where it might go completely wrong - - -. and who's bill anderson?
City Lad Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 Its fair to say that the Mercury have gone too far with their reports about the bid. The amount of front page spreads they have printed on the bid has annoyed me so many times.
Ultra Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 If the bid doesn't go through, the manager will have to wheel and deal to bring new blood into the club. And if this means players have to leave (Stearman? Hume? McCarthy?) so be it...

Ultra Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 If hume and stearman leave so we have enough money to buy johnson again whats the point? Johnson was a free transfer. The point would be to bring some quality into the side, or at least some up-and-coming young talent with the potential to develop further. This squad as it stands isn't good enough to take us to the top six, either this season or in the future.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 Johnson was a free transfer. The point would be to bring some quality into the side, or at least some up-and-coming young talent with the potential to develop further. This squad as it stands isn't good enough to take us to the top six, either this season or in the future. We already have up-and-coming young talent with the potential to develop further. Selling our best examples of that in order to take a gamble on players who might or might not turn out the same is silly. We need to stick with these players and hope that Kelly can coach them into being a team rather than a bunch of promising individuals who can't seem to gel together.
Mort Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 If hume and stearman leave so we have enough money to buy johnson again whats the point? Frankly if you dump the likes of Hume, Stearman, PaddK even Williams you wont get players comparable in, its already been said that most of the cash generated from any sales wont go back into the squad... also what on earth makes Ultra think RK is even capable of "wheeling&dealing"
Ultra Posted 31 December 2006 Posted 31 December 2006 RK's preferred strategy seems to be to muddle through with the present squad and hope that "something will turn up". But it won't. Players will be leaving (Williams, Johansson, Tiatto, maybe others) at the end of the season anyway so replenishing the squad will have to happen at some stage. It may as well be sooner rather than later!
