Geo V Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 IF we did spread out though the atmopshere would be even more dire. I dont even want to think about it Fair enough! I reckon we should start handing out bloody flyers or let the local radio in on the fact that we are trying to make the Walkers noisy. Our home form is poor. Too many home losses and that atsmosphere has something to do with it
Master Fox Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 I was a Liverpool fan as a kid and that one game I went to for a laugh with mates aged 16 at Filbo in which it started with singing in the streets the roar of the fans as we entered the penns converted me into a blue forever! Its a shame that the new fans dont seem to get that same bug that we got on our first visit. Leicester doing all these cheap deals to get fans in but not that many seem to be getting the bug. BTW, I`d love the "singers" to spread out and really try and get the rest of the fans into the swing of things by joining in. Some people seem to be embarrassed to get involved or something. Its not the bloody X-Factor!!!! I used to always sing, but now I feel slightly embarrassed and a bit sad because of team I'm meant to be singing about? Now I have to be incredibly pissed to even muster a few good loud words about the team. I also seem to be always surrounded by complete goofs at every game!!!

We are usually surrounded by goons at footy. Infact, I could be someones goon myself !! Being jumped on by some dude you dont know when we score is all acceptable football behavioyur when we score, as is standing next to some bearded dodgy breathed dude who is belting out "Leicetsreshire, LALALA"!!! On a serious note though, if many people have similar thoughts of only singing when we are winning, the place would be too quiet!! I dont see the point of not joining in as its value for your money to at least have left having had a laugh and a sing, regardless of the result!!
Vestan Pance Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 My observations are the away fans can't hear the kop and we can rarely hear them so the banter which leads to songs is doesn't exist. The away fans become encouraged as what they now think is Leicesters main vocal support (L1) is easily outsung and outnumbered. So the away fans think they win the battle. The Walkers being a terrible football stadium doesn't help matters. I'm hope this is a problem that will sort itself out over a period of time as more vocal fans head to L1, or the 'Kop' (a joke to call it that) gets moved. Thanks for some of those memories about Filbo, some of the best times of my life in SK1-2-3

I can also hear L1. and I sit in the total oposite end of the stadium.

In F2 were I sit normally you can barely hear the away fans, I was surprised to see that some had written how loud the Sunderland fans were. You can certainly never make out what they are singing about. I'm judging this against coming out of Filbert Street with my ears ringing I suppose.
DB11 Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 Well we aren't as successful now are we? Just take in the Barnsley game, it must have been the first time in ages we had a good crowd and played some good football so the fans just took in the occasion and the atmosphere was great
Ashley Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 I used to sit/stand in Pen2 Leicester ACTUALLY used to be the loudest fans in the country hard to belive
Simon Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 Its all down to the Kop/L1 being nowhere near the away fans and the splitting up of former Kopites. There is just no banter to be had. There was a period of time where I used to sit in the Family Stand and getting some good songs going. I remember sitting in the Family stand Vs Man City and Everton when we were in the Prem and having some fun with the away fans (there was a number sat in that area adjacent to the away fans). Correction, the Man City fans were entertaining, the Evertonians were just nutters (thats the nastiest atmosphere I've ever experienced at the Walkers.) In last two years though they seem to have restricted the people they'll let sit in the family stand purely to JUST families as I've not been allowed to sit there since! Whatever anyone says the Kop at Filbo still rocked the pants off the Walkers. Even when we were in the Prem, for me, it was no contest.
