Rincewind Posted 9 January 2007 Author Posted 9 January 2007 stez is correct. guess what? cant connect to the internet on it. service unavailable. I need a cable to connect to the PC to download stuff on the MP3. Spent over half hour registering and taking off the parental guide on it. Some sites you need to be over 18 to use like certain sport games. Tried getting a poker one but kept losing the connection. The ringtones are a bit crappy. got a siren/fire alarm for an alarm. That should frighten the neighbous at 5 oclock am
Rincewind Posted 9 January 2007 Author Posted 9 January 2007 Cant connect to the wap to download games. managed a couple of ring tones. Keep getting a timed out message. got up to 87%. ost me a bit as well. Also tried to top up with the phone and the payg service is unavailable. Also I need info about connection to the PC. I was told by a bloke on the market I just need an attachment for the PC then I dont need the USB cable then somebody else said that only works phone to PC Its a bluetooth phone btw. I forget what the bloke on the market called the device but he said he does them for £15 and will have some in next week. Carphone warehouse quoted £30-£40 for one and said they do work both ways. If I have the cable I have a disc for the PC. No use installing it until I get one or the other things.

If so you can't beat my one £7 from Aldi and works perfectly, cost £30 from the Carphone Warehouse another one did, and that was a sale.
Rincewind Posted 9 January 2007 Author Posted 9 January 2007 Does it work both ways? I mean so I can transfer my Pc music to the MP3 section of my phone. I forget what he called it. It was a wierd name. A blogger or something. I went back to the stall and another person was there and he said a cable was best. So you can see why I'm all confused. There isnt too much in the maual/instructions. Or at least its too technical for me. Just found it. Its called a DONGLE And Carphone warehouse a ripoffs. One here for £4.99. Dont know if I need a different one for my phone though.

If you get one of those you should be able to pair your phone to it via the Bluetooth connection and then do file transfers to the phone's memory.
Rincewind Posted 9 January 2007 Author Posted 9 January 2007 I've got something like one of those free with a poker magazine. Its got some poker site details on but I missed the promotion date so never tried it. Never really fancied plugging it into my pc anyway, dont know how secure it is.
cisono Posted 9 January 2007 Posted 9 January 2007 If you get one of those you should be able to pair your phone to it via the Bluetooth connection and then do file transfers to the phone's memory. That's my favourite way of transferring stuff between PC and phone (or between two blueetoth phones)
Simi Posted 9 January 2007 Posted 9 January 2007 Must agree with your second sentence there Me too. Must say I like the W850i
Rincewind Posted 10 January 2007 Author Posted 10 January 2007 I think I know the reason why I was having trouble with the wap internet. I had the bluetooth turned on and it may have been affecting the signal. Turned it off and the first download worked even the the signal showing was similar to before. Dowloaded two free games Sims pet and a mini golf one. Not too great. Cant reat the instructions on the Sims Pet one and the Golf one is small. Just had a text from customer services asking me to call them. Think its to anser an online questionaire about how good I thought theier services was when I called them. Still cant top up using my phone. Had 25p left and had to call them up to do it.
