Brainy Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 Is the poor form of late due to a poor, thin squad? Or is it just poor performances? Where do we need to strengthen? Do we need to strengthen?
Guest Gist Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 Everywhere I think but mainly in Midfield. I think we also need a striker who is going to get goals on a regular basis, someone who might have an off game but still just pop up with the goals when you need them to. A keeper who can actually kick and a left back.
holly Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 everywhere but midfield will have to be priority i think! and a striker aswell, and a goalie who can kick, so ummmm yeh i stick to my everywhere hehe
AyewJoking Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 We could challenge for the play-offs given the players we have and the young players available to us. Its the manager who is holding us back.

I sort of agree. Some of our players certainly have potential with exception of a few, although I don't think they are quite play off contenders even if we had a better manager.
dandannieldanok Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 We could challenge for the play-offs given the players we have and the young players available to us. Its the manager who is holding us back. Very few (If any) managers could make Andy Johnson and Stephen Hughes a creative and industrious centre midfield partnership which is a major factor needed to get to the prem.
MBK Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 This is perfect rubbish. Let the signings show what they have to offer next week or two. We need to remove the dead wood for sure. McCarthy no 1 unless he improves drastically. And get damn King and Gradel to play
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 You better be laughing WITH me. What player have we got that would get into...say Prestons team.
AyewJoking Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 Very few (If any) managers could make Andy Johnson and Stephen Hughes a creative and industrious centre midfield partnership which is a major factor needed to get to the prem. But a decent manager wouldnt play Johnson or Hughes. Certainly not together.
AyewJoking Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 What player have we got that would get into...say Prestons team. None but Preston arent challenging for the play-offs.
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 But a decent manager wouldnt play Johnson or Hughes. Certainly not together. The alternatives being.......
JoeyB Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 What player have we got that would get into...say Prestons team. kisnorbo, mcauley, andy johnson, porter, horsefield, logan, stearman
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 None but Preston arent challenging for the play-offs. Alright then, Southampton or Sunderland.
potter3 Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 kisnorbo, mcauley, andy johnson, porter, horsefield, logan, stearman And people think Bernie's mad
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 kisnorbo, mcauley, andy johnson, porter, horsefield, logan, stearman
AyewJoking Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 The alternatives being....... Dont play 4 in midfield, play Hume in midfield.
Flexx Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 kisnorbo, mcauley, andy johnson, porter, horsefield, logan, stearman Andy Johnson's a joke. I wouldnt put him in Torquay united's team let alone ours.
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 Dont play 4 in midfield, play Hume in midfield. So drop the only striker who has something resembling a deent goal return in this division into midfield. Yep 6th place here we come.
AyewJoking Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 Alright then, Southampton or Sunderland. Several, most likely Hume, Porter, Kisnorbo, Horsfield.
Flexx Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 Alright then, Southampton or Sunderland. I would say Hume, Kisnorbo, Fryatt and Stearman when he's on form.
AyewJoking Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 So drop the only striker who has something resembling a deent goal return in this division into midfield. Yep 6th place here we come. Hume will create some decent chances and no doubt score a few, maybe just as many as he does up front. May as well use all his energy in an area where he can make something happen rather than chase long balls all day.
Simon Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 The alternatives being....... Weso and King. And any reason there are not more alternatives than that are Kelly's fault for not bringing someone in when he had the opportunity.
