THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 8 February 2007 Posted 8 February 2007 Word! I am a young professional who lives off Imperial Avenue near the co-op on the Narborough Road (takes about 20-25 mins to walk to the Walkers) in a respectable fully furnished terraced house with double living room, twin double bedroom, modern kitchen and bathroom. My current housemate has literally just moved out as he got a new job in Birmingham and thus I have a room available if anyone knows anyone who might be interested. Rent is 250 a month (bills not included but they aren't very much) and I quite like to eat lots of nice food, play pro evo, get pissed, go out and bring girls back at weekends. Oh and any gym goers can get a monthly subscription at the new Braunstone Gym for 20 quid a month. So, who wants to live with Big John?

You need £400 for a box room FFS! Good luck with your search mate but my advice is to get a female in so you can hit on her mates and dont have to go into town to waste money pulling them. BTW girls also play Pro-evo and get pi$$ed which again is a plus
The People's Hero Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 I'd be tempted if I was in Leics. But I'm actually just about to move in to probably the worst area of Kent. Happy days!
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 9 February 2007 Author Posted 9 February 2007 ...my advice is to get a female in so you can hit on her mates and dont have to go into town to waste money pulling them I'm convinced you are my best friend
Geo V Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 I'm convinced you are my best friend . The first place I rented years back was with 4 lads and the place desperately needed the female touch. It got to such a state that my girlfriend didnt want to do anything apart from come in and hang straight in my room which obviously was a cracking idea of hers. The highlight of that stay was when one of my mates mum turned up to visit and went so mad at the state of the place that she phoned her daughter to come around and spent the next 3 hours scrubbing the place. That lasted all of a week as the messy lazy sods continued to party without cleaning up!

All 3 houses I stayed in at uni were absolute dumps, my parents in general refused to enter them and my housemate andi (who has had a giant rat up his arse since birth) used to go for a shit right before anyone expected a guest...oohhh the smell....some girls would enter the house and just run out screaming because the house smelt like death and it would even creap down the stairs and go round corners. In probably the best of the three during our second year I decided to drink a substancial amount of vodka and play baseball with fresh eggs on only the second night having moved in. Oh dear....the walls when I woke up the next day
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 Shame it isn't a month or two later I'm looking for a job in Leicester.

BTW girls also play Pro-evo and get pi$$ed which again is a plus I pity any girls moving into such a flat... One year, I shared a house with 4 guys (I knew 3 of them). One didn't actually live in the house and his place was taken by another one of their friends who "came to visit" with a couple of suitcases sometime in late October/early November but ended up staying until late Spring (he didn't think anything of it). The "extra" guy did not pay any rent, borrowed my sleeping bag on an extended loan (he didn't have a duvet) and once managed to throw up on it and on the carpet, would generally cause very high electricity bills and complain (to me) if the tissue roll ran out (!)... He also invited his girlfriend (whom we knew well) to stay over Christmas and for several weeks in the spring (without asking). At the time, I was working on my dissertation and needed some peace and quiet, so I eventually politely asked the couple if they could find somewhere else to stay. They disappeared and never talked to us again. (This was years ago) The African guy was fine. The only problem I had with him was that one morning I ran into a blonde he'd pulled that night - she became very territorial (!?!) and wanted to fight me there an then, in the corridor. (What for, I do not know). In any case, later that day, he apologised and explained why it was very important to him to bed some blondes before he went back home. In general, (excet the "extra one"), they were not that bad but none would do any cleaning. (I don't like cleaning either but it's unfair to expect girls to do all of it, especially if that's me ) Never again!!!
Zingari Posted 9 February 2007 Posted 9 February 2007 i've shared houses and flats many times ( more mature working people not students ) and found it to be the girls who are the more untidy and selfish ones ( knickers on all the rads etc) the guys were much more considerate .

I think the difference was that the people in question were all students or recent graduates (having graduated a few months earlier and still in "student mode").

Oh dear....the walls when I woke up the next day That particular situation for me was after a lads holiday about 10 years ago we all got on so well we said lets all move in and have a party a night. Once it happened reality kicked in and peoples personal habbits that werent spotted on holiday came to light. One mate in particular was the main culprit and he used to be proud when he spilt his beer on the floor or let his spaghetti somehow stain the sofa. No one wanted to clean up after him and it was his girlfriend who would moan at him when she came around and that would make him dig his feet in and do even less ! That was one fooked up lad. His mates were the craziest buggers I ever had the misfortune of meeting. Thankfully he moved with the rest ofthe imbreds. He now lives in Norwich

His mates were the craziest buggers I ever had the misfortune of meeting. Thankfully he moved with the rest ofthe imbreds. He now lives in Norwich my recent housemate used to leave on every fooking light in the house (sometimes all through the day), proper pissed me off because I'd turn one or two of them off, within 5 minutes I'd go back, he'd be locked in his room but the lights (landing, bathroom et al) would be on again..weird (and I've checked for poltergeists)..I think it might have been something to do with darkness/anxiety or something, or random hair clippings left in the sink or toothpaste all stuck to it, or if he had a bowl of cornflakes without fail he would get them on the kitchen floor, on the carpets, on the sofa and then would just walk upstairs to his room, one night it all boiled over and I nutted him. It's the little things that really do your head in I find. He never used to lift up the second toilet seat either and without fail would piss all over the place, so every day bang on 6pm when I have my dump I'd have to clean off his piss off. Living on my own for the last month has been like heaven honestly(all those girls you're emabarrassed to bring home cos of what your mates will say suddenly become a popular passtime). Some people say I'm slightly 'anal' when it comes to cleaning and keeping the place tidy but I'm not at all I just have some standards and consideration for other people. I'm all for making mess as long as at some point it gets tidied (something my housemate never did)
