Thracian Posted 21 February 2007 Posted 21 February 2007 Big thanks to Rob Kelly. I was so depressed watching the apology we produced for football at Burnley last night that I determined to do something positive today. So I've put in process the purchase of an off-plan apartment in Dubai's phenomenal Sports City - ahead of the 2020 Olympics bid. Probably won't do me any good but the kids might have some fun. Anyone else interested check out The Cube, Dubai or Oxford Court, International City, Dubai. http://www.thecube.bz/ http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=Oxford+Co...c=&fp_ip=UK I certainly felt a lot better afterwards.
lookwhaticando Posted 22 February 2007 Posted 22 February 2007 I'm planning on swinging by Dubai in about 14 years time... can I stay? I'll bring quality alcoholic beverages, naturally.

lookwhaticando Posted 22 February 2007 Posted 22 February 2007 You'll probably have to ask my sons by then! Are they City fans?
Thracian Posted 22 February 2007 Author Posted 22 February 2007 Are they City fans? The youngest one (he's 21) certainly is.
lookwhaticando Posted 22 February 2007 Posted 22 February 2007 The youngest one (he's 21) certainly is. He's my age, too! Magical. Be sure to tell him I'm popping 'round. ;) :D I've already been to Dubai and quite liked it, hence my enthusiasm for a return visit.

He's having a belting time at the moment ski-ing, ski-jumping and snowboarding in the French Alps so it's going to be a shock when he learns he's got a holiday opportunity in the Desert land of Dubai. He's just emailed his schedule for the rest of the year.... America first for summer with his fiance then three months in New Zealand. For a kid with no education he sure seems to be figuring it out and I doubt you'd run short of things to talk about.

Jesus christ. I wouldn't want to ask how much you earn but... fooked hell how much do you earn? And while I'm at it with the rude questions, how old are you? Strikes me as a bit morbid expecting not to be able to use it. Sad, really.

I didn't say I wouldn't use it - just that I might not use it in 2020!. As for the cost, look closer. It's no more than some people pay for a car and the 8% guaranteed letting return guarantees net £+ over the first three years after which one can renew the arrangement, sell or let it out independently. I didn't mention it to suggest I was wealthy, quite the contrary. I mentioned it in case anyone else fancied a relatively painless investment in an exciting place.
lookwhaticando Posted 23 February 2007 Posted 23 February 2007 ... and to offer, very graciously I might add, a vacation for someone willing to buy you alcohol upon arrival.
