Brainy Posted 24 February 2007 Posted 24 February 2007 I remember thinking about our poor disciplinary record, and wondered if we could go the season without seeing red.
Geo V Posted 25 February 2007 Posted 25 February 2007 A manager takes a team from nowhere into 9th place in the premiership. He also manages to guide the team to an FA Cup final and into Europe. He then has a dodgy start to the new season and gets sacked. A new manager replaces him and spends millions and they "gain" 4 points from a possible 33. Meanwhile, he gets to his new club and galvanises them from nowhere to an outside chance of staying up. Well done Alan Pardew!! The West Ham board are a disgrace. I hope they go down and stay there and the board loses millions.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 13 May 2007 Posted 13 May 2007 Finished 15th in the end, only two points behind Newcastle! Football truly is an amazing game.
Thracian Posted 13 May 2007 Posted 13 May 2007 I've spoke to few who can see this. MM is an known admirer of Curbs.I'd take him defo! Curbishley's had his good times but I don't thing he's a great motivator and I don't think he builds wonderful teams. Dowie/Coleman too. To me Pardew's stronger in the motivation stakes. We should stick to people who's stars are on the rise.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 13 May 2007 Posted 13 May 2007 I wish someone would explain to me why we'd want a sacked manager?.Do you all think it's some sort of bad luck that their team's fail? Curbishley's had his good times but I don't thing he's a great motivator and I don't think he builds wonderful teams. In fact he's been done over good and proper by Pardew (who I would want) in the motivation stakes. We should stick to people who's stars are on the rise. Curbishley who has just won seven out of nine games at West Ham including Arsenal and Manchester United away, Curbishley? As opposed to Pardew who's just relegated Charlton? How has he been done over good and proper?

Thracian Posted 13 May 2007 Posted 13 May 2007 Add the fact that it was Pardew who got sacked, not Curbs. Perhaps I was a bit hasty because it's clear Curbishley would be popular and that matters. I just don't see the attraction of manager's whose teams are struggling (Coleman/Dowie etc) when you can have managers who are doing well. Nor am I convinced Curbishley would be happy out of London. But for sure it would be nice to get someone soon and he's perhaps as big a name as we're likely to get.
lookwhaticando Posted 13 May 2007 Posted 13 May 2007 I swear rob green is tubes off soccer AM. You're wrong. It's actually Michael Douglas who's been playing in goal for West Ham.
