Guest Posted 25 January 2005 Posted 25 January 2005 ,Jan 25 2005, 1:19 PM] Did you know that you can run around your local area, lift weights you have got from argos and eat less to keep fit at alot less?It might even save you money if you dont buy as much food. Some people prefer to hang round a sweaty gym with smelly old men though and pay a large amount of money. 58091 Each to their own! 58210 But my Uni gym is only £80 a year, now that's a bargain!! 58775 Pah! You couldn't get 2 months at ours for that! Blooming students!

Matt Posted 26 January 2005 Posted 26 January 2005 Just go back from gym, went with my next door neighbours daughter and her friend<--- Met a few people I used to go to school with. Today I did 10 mins on the running machine, 25 mins on a stepping machine (Pretty high pace), 5 mins on the bike, 10 mins(2000m) on the rowing machine. Then did 20 mins in the pool, then into the spa!
Scow Posted 26 January 2005 Posted 26 January 2005 Just 10 minutes on the running machine? Bloody hell, take it easy why don't you.
Matt Posted 26 January 2005 Posted 26 January 2005 Just 10 minutes on the running machine? Bloody hell, take it easy why don't you. 59244 -I'm not the best runner - Reason: Because i'm unfit -I did 20 mins on the running machine the other night and I was really aching in the morning, I blame it on the running machine having said that "No pain, No gain!"
Scow Posted 26 January 2005 Posted 26 January 2005 I joined the gym a few weeks ago, and I have been reguarly running for 30 minutes. Although I think it's knackered my legs up. After I come off the machine, my legs feel like they're going to collapse. Maybe I was doing too much excercise, so I've had a bit of a rest and hopefully I won't get the same problem when I go back.

Guest Posted 26 January 2005 Posted 26 January 2005 Every time my running starts to improve, I either get ill, or injured. Talk about one step forward, two steps back!

Scarby Posted 26 January 2005 Posted 26 January 2005 apparently the bike machines are much better for building up leg muscles!
Scow Posted 26 January 2005 Posted 26 January 2005 apparently the bike machines are much better for building up leg muscles! 59473 That's good, because it's much easier!

I dont like the running machines. 59478 They're really boring too. I don't mind other machines like the cross trainer and the bikes, it's more enjoyable. The gym I go to position the running machines so they're facing outside the window, whereas the other machines are placed so you can watch the TV's.

Matt Posted 3 February 2005 Posted 3 February 2005 Signed up for another Free Day at Cannons today! I walked into Sainsburys today and Cannons were there trying to get more customers, and we saying to everyone "Free day at Cannons?" so I said yes please, so they took my name/address and they'll send me a free pass in the post! Not as good as a 7 day memebership free which I had the other week but better than nownt. -Its a day pass for 2 so the woman said so I can take a mate this time, The other week I went with my next door neighbours daughters and there friends (which I had no complaints about ) but this time I can take one of my own mates!

Matt Posted 5 August 2005 Posted 5 August 2005 wish i could afford a gym membership, just have to settle for home equipment:( 150738 Looking on that side of it is all the money you spend on memberships at gyms you could set up your own little "mini" gym at home, but the plus side of going to the gym is motovation, meeting new people, getting fit(But you would do that in your home gym anyway!) e.t.c Just been to the gym - just got back, I thought I would just try it out on the first day of my membership
cisono Posted 5 August 2005 Posted 5 August 2005 I've got a free pass for the whole of this week at cannons, so i'm going with my next door neighbours daughter all through this week! Everything is free, Gym, classes, pool, sauna, sunbeds, massage, e.t.c! Top Class!WOOHOO! And Cannons is £38 a month which is £1 extra compared to BetterBodies and Cannons has more so i'm deffo gonna join Cannons...eventually! And also at the moment, Cannons has no joining fee! 58084 I am curious... why is Cannons only 38 pounds a month? I joined Cannons in 1999 and it was 40 pounds a month then. They never offered a reduction in membership, in fact, they later raised it to 43. And the weekly passes... in the ones I used to get, the massages were NOT included. Wonder what is happening?
