Johnstone's Paint Trophy

Recommended Posts

For the very first time, I heard about it this morning whilst reading the Bristol Derby match Report, which the Rovers won 1-0.

What the heck is the Johnstone's Paint Trophy?

EDIT: Thanks for wikipedia for the help on this.

The trophy for League One and Two teams?

How much more trophies do we want to award?

It gives the teams in question a chance to play at the Millennium / Wembley Stadium and a decent pay day. Just be grateful we don't have to participate - there but for the grace of god go we (not that I'm religious or anything) alternatively think of Forest.

1-0 to rovers ; it wasn't a whitewash then ?

i suppose rovers were overcome with emulsion when they won :P

Well they certainly put a bit of gloss on the Competition

The dumbest paint jokes ever??? http://www.top20fun.com/funny_jokes/4191.html

The comp is a decent payday which is great. Also for shite teams to actually play at a big stadium is a once in a lifetime experience for many of them. Everyone deserves a nice day out lol.

Yeah but to be fair if you include the play offs you get at least two chances of getting there. If we were a lower league club without a history of getting to cup finals we'd be happy getting there too. Look at some of the bigger teams that have won the trophy over the years. Even Wolves have won it and they've won the league, FA Cup and League Cups plus reached a Uefa cup final.

Im not kncocking the competition as its a day out to remember for the finalists. It obviously means little in stature because only the ropey sides can play in it but good luck to them!
