Disagree!

Your manager says Hearts would beat most teams in your league, something you lot are having trouble with just now! Maybe he's just trying to justify his comments?

Lets face it outwith Chelsea, Arsenal and Man U English domestic football is just as sh1t in a competitive sense as Scottish only on a bigger scale due to Sky money, population etc.

Don't want to say I told you so but I did say when CL came you'd work hard and draw (well, not win) a lot of games due to his negativity. MDV was always injured and Maybs is a cracking player. Correct so far? As for Paddy K there are SPL players who would do a turn for you but not sure Paddy's one of them.

Congratulations on your all stars knocking the mighty Blackpool out of the FA Cup. Hypothetically if there ever was a British Cup a trip to the W**kers Stadium would hold no fears!

PS Made a number of friends when I first joined this board and would like to make it clear that my comments are aimed at small minded fans who generalise the various merits of other footballing cultures whilst knowing absolutely sod all about it!

Rant over, good luck at the weekend, I suspect you'll need it, Reading look a good side...

To be fair MDV has looked dangerous when he has came on for us. His injury proness does worry me, but he was fairly consistent in playing for you in the first few years so perhaps this has just been a dodgy year for him. I like the sound of Burton O'Brien, i've been doing abit of research and he sounds good. About to make his South Africa debut aswell, so i'd be pleased to see him here. Not sure on Kisnorbo, Hearts fans have given mixed views on him. I can't see him being more than a squad player with the likes of Gareth Williams, Joey Gudjonsson, Lilian Nalis and Stephen Dawson already fighting for the central midfield places.

Levein is reknown for having a good eye for footballing talent, he signed alot of unknown players at Hearts and they turned out to be great so i'm confident his signings for us will be of similar ilk.

Well I know next to nothing about the standard of Scottish football and therefore as is my normal approach will not comment on the merits of it, but I do have a valid view of English football and I agree that putting Chelsea, Arsenal and Man U aside the standard of English domestic football is very poor. Having watched a fair number of Premiership games, curtesy of Sky  including Liverpool, newcastle, Middlesboro, Aston Villa etc. I believe it's barely one step up from the shite we have to put up with in the Championship except that each team is sprinkled with one or two high quality players.

On the basis that CL, having a wealth of knowledge re Scottish football and having endured what passes as football down here for the past couple of months thinks our football is inferior to that played by Hearts then I'm happy to see these signings.

What a tremendous couple of posts.

It's always good to read well thought out and balanced viewpoints.

Sources in Scotland, meanwhile, have linked City with a move for Livingston striker Burton O'Brien, though they could face some competition from Aberdeen.

Celtic are also believed to be admirers of the 23-year-old.

The South African-born player started his career with St Mirren and had a spell at Blackburn before returning north. He is out of contract in the summer and would be available on a free transfer.

"He's one of the younger ones we've looked at," said City boss Craig Levein. "But it's not gone any further than that."

Yes it is.

It also demonstrates how tight the Celtic board are and that Martin O'Neill will be at Old Trafford next season
