shen Posted 24 January 2005 Posted 24 January 2005 aye and he's been reluctant to play the 2 scots we have (Canero&Williams) so you could well be on to something

Chandler Posted 24 January 2005 Posted 24 January 2005 If Levein has a chip on top of his Jocko chip about his compatriots then he's gone up a notch in my estimation. Like me he knows that all Jockolanders come in one size only - hard and dour (attributes curiously activated by specific high frequency sounds - er like an English accent for example). Deep down he also knows that however highly he rates the SPL (which I don't) its standard is 100% down to (third rate) foreign imports (unlike the standard of the Premiership which is 99% due to second rate foreign imports). Forget about it boys. There's no native talent on the dark side of the wall that could get into an England Z squad. And that, my friends, was the massive oversight of the board when they appointed Levein - there's no one worth his while tapping up. So, look forward to more golden oldies on short term contracts. Except they will be coming from the Championship now rather than the Prem...

Chandler Posted 24 January 2005 Posted 24 January 2005 I know. Those who speak the truth are always banned.
Craig Posted 24 January 2005 Posted 24 January 2005 I know. Those who speak the truth are always banned. 58364 So are those who are blatantly racist, and this isn't the first time.

Why should we look forward to short term contract 'golden oldies'?... Hasn't he just signed 3 players on 3-3½ year deals, all below 30? Sometimes you definitely think with your ass instead of your head, or youve been acrobatic and stuck your head there.. Oh and by the way, don't you want to consider becoming a Cov fan? Afterall their board had the oversight of hireing your darling Adams...
Mad Jacks Eyes Posted 24 January 2005 Posted 24 January 2005 But its only your opinion isn't it?? So how can it be the truth. We all have opinions mate, its just that if you don't like anyone elses you come up with the tried and tested bonehead malarky.....don't know about the banning bit, but you need to learn some tolerance mate....
davieG Posted 24 January 2005 Posted 24 January 2005 If Levein has a chip on top of his Jocko chip about his compatriots then he's gone up a notch in my estimation.Speculation and heresay hence Chandler's use of 'If Levein' Like me he knows that all Jockolanders come in one size only - hard and dour (attributes curiously activated by specific high frequency sounds - er like an English accent for example). We only know that this what Chandler thinks not CL as this could be perceived as a compliment, nothing wrong with 'hard and dour' in my book, but unlikely to apply to all Scots so stereotyping and some whatr ather than racist. As for the 'specific high frequency sounds' seems to me he saying the Scots are like the English- again hardly racist Deep down he also knows that however highly he rates the SPL (which I don't) its standard is 100% down to (third rate) foreign imports (unlike the standard of the Premiership which is 99% due to second rate foreign imports). This just seems to me that Chandler is saying that 'foreign imports' have not improved the quality of the Scottish or English Premier Leagues - which is highly subjective but again hardly racist Forget about it boys. There's no native talent on the dark side of the wall that could get into an England Z squad. And that, my friends, was the massive oversight of the board when they appointed Levein - there's no one worth his while tapping up. The lack of talent over the border seems to be common knowledge amongst a lot of Scottish football professionals and was aired quite recently over the demise of their last manager, who was considered not to blame for poor Scottish performances. As for the oversight of our board in appointing Levein I personally don't see the connection between that and the perceived lack of talent over the border as one does not equate to the other - CL has the whole world from which to sign palyers, money permitting of course; that he chooses to purchase from the Scottish Leagues in the short term I suspect is a matter of expediency on his part. So, look forward to more golden oldies on short term contracts. Except they will be coming from the Championship now rather than the Prem... This statement has no credibility at all, there is no evidence to date that CL will be purchasing 'golden oldies' from anywhere. 58358 You need banning. 58359 Craig I think you need to take a step back and get some perspective here, this is whats called a wind up, it will degenerate into a racists diatribe if you let it. As you can see I've attempted to put 'my' interpretation on Chandlers out pourings. See it for what it is a childish attempt to yet again stir up some aggravation on this board to satisfy Chandler who seems to get some sort of perverse pleasure from it - but hey if that's what he wants it's his life, as for me I tend to ignore it unless I'm ask to intervene. I think if you do the same you will find it quickly dies a sad and lonely death. Suggestion do not feed the monster that is Chan dler
Chandler Posted 24 January 2005 Posted 24 January 2005 Craig, you are in desperate need of a sense of proportion, a sense of history and a sense of humour. Has it ever crossed your mind that in Blairite Britain that Jocks are currently top dogs? Over represented in Cabinet and in The Commons their creaking economy was, is and always will be bailed out by Westminster. It's reverse imperialism godammit! And are they grateful? No. They whinge. Against the English (and, of course, it's perfectly PC for everyone to hate the English). For Flodden, Glen Coe, Culloden and the Highland Clearances. Everything that happened hundreds of years ago. Every misfortune in fact where they had more than a minor role in bringing upon themselves. Now tell me my young idealistic friend where have you seen Scots discriminated against in employment? Where have you seen them attacked in the streets or heard about them having excrement shoved through their letter boxes? Where are the cattle trucks filled with Jocks steaming north to the border? And where are the transit camps, the concentration camps and the gas chambers? THAT'S RACISM. The day I no longer hear MY compatriots referring to the likes of you ( part Jock yourself by the sounds of things - the reason perhaps behind your hyper sensitivity?) as 'Sassenach' is the day that I drop the Jock as a term of endearment. Now grow up, burn your Guardian and switch off the BBC...

If this little lot had been picked up for a song by Adams last summer he would have been forced out before the first game of the season. Take it from me: in a few weeks time posters on this board won't be moaning about 'Golden Oldies.' They'll be carrying on about 'Shot Jocks.'
Vardinhio Posted 25 January 2005 Posted 25 January 2005 Chandler mate how old are you? You write in a very affluent style I admit, but your motivation seems questionable. This is a board based on football and yet you seem to bring topics in to question such as peoples attitudes concerning the Scottish? When the first post was made it was clearly not meaning that Levein dislikes his own countrymen but was made in jest concerning current circumstances. As for putting down "your Guardian". Who the hell would be strong enough to pick one up .
Chandler Posted 25 January 2005 Posted 25 January 2005 Affluent style? Never been told that before. As for the pursuit of my compatriots... This started out as a bit of gentle ribbing (in the auld vernacular) of the current manager. Of course it went down like a ton of cold boke with the local Soviet of City Supporters. Predictably and unimaginatively I was called a racist. I was even hauled before the Commisar of the Boards, Comrade Davieg and warned about corrupting the masses. So remember Archerm - we always hated Adams and we will always love Levein. Adams' signings bad, Levein's signings good. BAA! BAAA!! BAAAA!!!

Take it from me: in a few weeks time posters on this board won't be moaning about 'Golden Oldies.' They'll be carrying on about 'Shot Jocks.' 58663 Well they can't be worse than Makin, Dublin, Dabizas, Nalis, Gudjonsson et al who are, as you pointed out, on considerably larger wages than the new 'recruits' of which we've barely seen 1, whos undoubtedly already thrown Makin out of the side...I know full well that these new players aren't going to set a Prem team alight let alone the Championship, but (apparently) they have a little skill, are committed professionals with high work rates, which is more than one could say about the current crop. It's also nice to see players on reasonable wages for once..it might actually be healthy for our finances y'know! I don't bloody care where they come from, if it's from eastern Siberia, Brazil or Scotland, it doesn't matter one bit as long as they can do a job. Now I don't know what you'd have expected anyone does in the tight situation were in. Adams would most likely have kept as many 'experienced heads' as possible and maybe added a few now/next summer, but I really couldn't see MA make better deals in the future. I'm not sure as to why u keep on knocking CL as he hasn't really been worse than Adams so far
Chandler Posted 25 January 2005 Posted 25 January 2005 '...he hasn't really been worse than Adams so far.'(!) Best example I have ever seen of 'damning with faint praise' Shen. Is that the best you can say about our Lothian import? Wasn't the whole point of the 'hoof Adams out campaign' to salvage what remained of the season ie reach the play offs? Or have you rewritten the manifesto? So what is it now then: 'mid table mediocrity' or 'beat the drop' (a prospect, interestingly, that no one pinned on Adams)?
Guest Posted 25 January 2005 Posted 25 January 2005 Wasn't MON's own 'shaky start' alleviated somewhat by a few of his own signings?

For the first time in a long while we are closer to the play-offs than we are the relegation places, which IMHO is progress.

And I said he hasn't been worse because you keep insinuating he isn't anywhere near as good as Adams. I can say plenty of promising stuff about him already, and to be honest I'd struggle to do that at the end of Adams' reign. I haven't rewritten the manifesto, but it seems we (the fans) overestimated our players abilities OR we underestimated how much poor morale was in the squad when CL took over. About the team's style of play... many fans now want the almost anonymous Scowy out, when, during the Adams period, they found him to be one of the best players in the squad. I would think that's down to less hoofing and more play on the deck, which apparently makes Scowy less useful I think we will be in and around the play-offs come May and with some luck we might make it.. And frankly I'm beginning to wonder what makes you so angry... That we hired CL (and not someone else) or that we got rid of MA 'cause the results and attitude went 'tits up' ?
Who ate all the pies? Posted 25 January 2005 Posted 25 January 2005 Bloody hell Chandler, you don't shy away from controversy do you? Lets be honest though the best players in Scotland aren't Scottish....although the same could be said for England. I don't care what nationality they are as long as we sign quality(preferably high quality) players!
Chandler Posted 26 January 2005 Posted 26 January 2005 Wasn't MON's own 'shaky start' alleviated somewhat by a few of his own signings? 58805 Lisa, Lisa, Lisa!!! You mean you don't remember how 'MON's shaky start was 'alleviated?' Tut, tut. And you call yourself a Leicester fan!
