davieG Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 Fulham's French defender Franck Queudrue has hinted hey may play for England after repeatedly being snubbed by his country. The former Middlesbrough stopper had hoped a summer move to The Cottagers would boost his international prospects. However, France coach Raymond Domenech is yet to make the call to Queudrue, who is eligible to play for England in six months' time. Queudrue believes England coach Steve McClaren is a fan of his skills, but is keen to see whether he would be selected before changing nationality. "I have never heard from the French selectors - they must be ghosts," explained Queudrue. "But Steve brought me to England and he liked what I did for him at Middlesbrough. "To change nationality would be a very difficult decision and would depend whether there was any chance I was wanted here."
Leonisco Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 What a joker! Why would we pick him when we've got Terry, Ferdinand, Woodgate and Carragher?
Geo V Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 What a joker! Why would we pick him when we've got Terry, Ferdinand, Woodgate and Carragher? He`s a leftback mate and has said what he has said because we usually struggle in that possie. Also, he has played under McClaren so is trying to get in that way. He has a decent left peg but he is another of the premier slow coaches.

Yes, but I think he's played centre-back on a number of occasions for Fulham this season (although I may be wrong ). And anyway, we're not struggling for a left-back at the moment, we've got Ashley Cole and Wayne Bridge, and if they're not fit I'd much rather have Leighton Baines than some French twat.
lookwhaticando Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 I think this is even worse than when Almunia said he wanted to play for England.
Manwell Pablo Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 Good player Frank Queudrue, might make the England team play better if it has a foriegner in it, make it more like the Premier League.

I cant see him as a centre-half at all but I think Cole is banned and Bridge is injured which leaves an opening at leftback so Frank has come out of the wordwork to talk nonsense. It was only a few months ago that he said he thought its not too late to play for France !! BTW I agrre, Baines would be my chocie and Gareth Barry second but if you watched the footy on ITV the other day you would have seen McClaren talking about the problem possie and who did he mention as players he would have no trouble in playing at leftback?? Yep, Jamie Carragher and Phil Neville FFS! Carragher one of the best centrehalves of his generation looked weak at rightback for England so now we are going to play the rightfooted CB at LB or get Phil Neville in there when neither are left footed and it would be neithers preferred position.

Totally agree, mate, there's no way Phil Neville should be anywhere near the England side. Why, when he's got the options of two perfectly capable natural left-backs (Baines and Barry), he chooses those two who are shaky there at best is beyond me.

Its just worrying that all McClaren has been going on about in recent weeks is the good old English pride and up and at them mentality and bulldog spirit. He is trying to take us back 20 years. His choices at left-back are worrying as is his midfield system. I dont want to sound so down but I think England wont qualify under McClaren....
Joe. Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 Beauty Now this is Franck Queudrue at his best eh scoring a superb goal... Oh wait, it's in the wrong one
Jordan Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 This is the least-effective ultimatum I have ever seen.
dandannieldanok Posted 16 March 2007 Posted 16 March 2007 No thanks, would be an improvement on Phil Neville admittedly, but there is no way he should be in ahead of the Chelsea left-backs.
Zingari Posted 17 March 2007 Posted 17 March 2007 would he be only the second player for england who's surname begins with Q ( albert quixall i think has played) i think we only have one beginnig with V ( viljoen ) and he too was foreign
Ultra Posted 17 March 2007 Posted 17 March 2007 Has it occurred to Queudrue that the reason he's not been picked by France might be related to the fact that he isn't good enough? And if the French don't want him. why should we?
