Roundabouts are bloody great

Zebra crossings are the most fun. I mean, did I ever look like I was planning on stopping?!

I dont know what Leicester is like in the suburbs these days as I moved out a while ago and when I go up to City its usually car, city centre and ground but down here its bloody speed bumps on every road which drives me mad. There arent that many roads that havent got these damn speed bumps down here. Barstewards!

All the roundabouts in my neck of the woods were great.

Then they put traffic lights on almost all of them. Now they suck.

I'm a big fan of the T junctions with an actual split between the two sides of the road leading up to them on one part, each of which with 2 lanes. No one (apart from me, evidently) knows which lane to use at any time. It's fuc king obvious. I think they're called D junctions sometimes.

It's Milton Keynes' anthem, for real, they got the rights off prog rock band Starship...

it goes "We built this city, we built this city on round-a-bouts! Built this city...etc...etc..."

i hear there is lots to gained from them ; especially if you have suffered losses on swings

(i heard it on the budget last night) ; so from now on i'm only betting on roundabouts :)

Roundabouts? Pah!

For real excitement, I suggest a trip around Coventry's inner ring road. Built by Satan, I understand.

Do people actually take notice of Mini Roundabouts?

Depends what they're talking about...I mean to say, they know shit about the New Rave.

We don't have roundabouts here, but I remember reading about them in the New York State Driver's Manual when I was studying for my learner's permit. According to the manual, roundabouts ease traffic flow and are so safe that the state has decided to build them just about everywhere.

I have yet to see a roundabout anywhere in this state or in this country.

I do like a nice roundabout.

Although not strictly a roundabout, I'm a great admirer of the new(ish) J32A intersecting the M62 halfway between J32 (Pontefract) and J33 (Ferrybridge). That, and the new bit of the A1(M) at Weatherby are really THE roads to be seen driving on this year.

Oooh, and while we're at it:- service stations? My favourites are Tibshelf (M1), Leeming Bar (A1(M)) and Didcot (A43? Or is it the A34...I can never remember?

What? How can you leave out Newport Pagnell? :o

It's the service station of kings.

Just like the rest of the city then.

Ive been in the States for 2 years and I've seen 4 of 'em.

All of them out of the cell window in San Quentin, huh?

Well - that's what you get for trying to smuggle in Thai hookers I guess. Some people will never learn.

I reckon they have to be one of the best inventions ever - especially the big one down in Swindon.

Well done designers of roundabouts! :appl:

English-style roundabouts are one of those things that the Brits can boast over their American counterparts!

The Brits have got their (road) priorities right, while the Americans just don't have a clue (well, not too surprisingly!) :P

Actually 2 were in Florida and the other 2 were in Rhode Island, but still, interesting assumption you made.

I thought that was the only reason anyone flew into America? I mean, how else do illegal Thai hookers get shipped around the globe :dunno:
