lookwhaticando Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 What I find funniest about this episode is that someone actually wanted to be Ian Beale.
MC Prussian Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 Seems like the club's losing its members fast... Hardly anyone wants to be associated with Leicester City FC any longer.
lookwhaticando Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 I'll be Billy Mitchell Pathetic. Seems like the club's losing its members fast... Hardly anyone wants to be associated with Leicester City FC any longer. Can you blame them? They'll be back once we win a few games on the bounce, under a new manager, having turned over a lot of players in the summer. Not me, though. I'm here through thick and thin. Although with the quality of posts on FT these days, perhaps that should have read thick and thicker.

Flynny Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 Isn't it usually ten, with the eleventh only watching in awe? I'm not fussed, so long as they pay. Gotta fuel my £150 a day earring habit somehow.
AoWW Posted 10 April 2007 Posted 10 April 2007 This thread. Sad thing is, it could have been a good thread - till it lost track in such spectacular fashion!

Brainy Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 It was my fault. I shouldn't have mentioned Eastenders.
Leicester Lass Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 EASTENDERS legend Ian Beale is to be killed off in a final showdown with arch-enemy Phil Mitchell. The long-running feud of the Albert Square veterans will reach its stunning climax on screen next month. The £1million action sequence has already been filmed at the world-famous James Bond stage at Pinewood Studios. EastEnders bosses had hoped to keep it completely under wraps. But after more than 2,000 episodes and 22 years in the soap, insiders have told the Daily Star Sunday that Ian’s time is just about up. Soap chiefs HAVE filmed an alternative ending to the showdown in which chip shop owner Ian survives. And they were still tight-lipped about the plot last night. So was actor Adam Woodyatt, 38, who plays Ian and who is the only star who has been in the soap since the first edition in 1985. But a source told us: “The final showdown between Ian and Phil has been the most expensive stunt the show has ever done. “It’s going to produce a huge fightback in the bitter telly ratings war. “The climax has been so secret that only those involved in the scenes actually know what’s going to happen. “Scriptwriters have written alternative endings – one where Ian lives and one where he dies. “But the word is that his time is just about up.†The BBC have gone to enormous lengths to keep the storyline hush-hush. The insider added: “Both sets of scripts were printed on special red paper so they couldn’t be photo-copied or faxed to anyone. “It was a closed set when the final scene was shot so only a handful of people know the outcome. “But, with Ian up against Phil, it really doesn’t look good for him. He always comes off worse and everything is pointing towards his death.†Ian’s feud with hardman Phil, played by Steve McFadden, is one of the longest in any soap. The pair have been at loggerheads since Phil married Ian’s mum Kathy, played by Gillian Taylforth. They recently called a truce after Kathy’s death for the sake of little Ben, Ian’s stepbrother. But petty Ian has never been able to let things rest and bitterness is currently boiling up again. Our source said: “The next spat between Ian and Phil starts over a savaloy! “Phil’s mum Peggy forgets to pay for the sausage in the chip shop so Ian decides not to pay for his drink in the Vic. “It’s a genuine mistake on Peggy’s part but it stirs things up all over again. And they are only going to get worse. Ian will oppose Phil’s wedding with Stella and they will continue to fight over Ben’s welfare. “His pettiness becomes unbearable and, in the end, everyone will be willing Phil to do him in. “It all comes to a head in one of the biggest stunts the soap world has ever seen.†Could it be Ian’s Waterloo? He’s had so many close shaves in the past – including the time his wife Cindy, played by Michelle Collins, tried to have him bumped off by a hired assassin. An EastEnders spokesman said firmly: “We do not comment on future storylines. “This really isn’t something we would comment on. Viewers will just have to wait and see what happens.†Fans of the hit soap will be able to watch the explosive scenes towards the end of next month. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news_detail.html?sku=1517
lookwhaticando Posted 11 April 2007 Posted 11 April 2007 Does this mean his alter-ego - JoeB - will be killed off too?
