Random Burglar Posted 19 April 2007 Posted 19 April 2007 I have a job interview for a graduate managers job with Enterprise rent-a-car. It is my 1st 'proper' interview. Does anyone have any tips for me?
JoeyB Posted 19 April 2007 Posted 19 April 2007 be your self and look smart nice firm handshake always go's down well and in mine i normally dont sit down till they say take a seat!
Geo V Posted 19 April 2007 Posted 19 April 2007 Tell the ineterviewer that you hate cars and thinkeveryone should ride a bike. Also tell him you hate speaking to people face to face or on the phone. Good luck mate!
blue blood Posted 19 April 2007 Posted 19 April 2007 this is prob the best interview tip you can ever get. Remember the 3P's - Prep, Practice, Perform 1. Prep - do the research; Questions, the company, the role, the location, yourself, what you want from it, what they want from it, the kind of person they want...basically anything and everything. Use the internet, call them (believe it or not they will be impressed) 2. Practice - Once you have done all the prep you will have a good idea about the company, what you want, what they want and the role itself. this step includes getting a list of many sample questions you can be expected to answer - search on google for popular interview questions or something. You MUST prepare and practice the questions and answers, if you can get someone to ask the questions if not sit infront of a mirrior and answer questions out aloud - you will feel like a **** but rather feel a **** in front of a mirror than in an interview for the dream job rite??? 3. Perform- Ok now you know just about everything about the job and you have polished how you plan to answer questions - go in there and knock em out!!! you will be feeling calm and in control even perhaps confident. Dont answer questions in a manner that will give away the practice, for example if they ask your name dont instantly reply BLUE BLOOD!!!!! take half a second and reply Blue Blood.....etc Try the 3P's they have never failed me and whats the worse that can happen?!?! Good luck and let me be the first to congratulate you!!!

hebangsthedrums Posted 19 April 2007 Posted 19 April 2007 I was going to apply for the scheme, what was the application process like? Also if you don't mind me asking what subject is your degree?
Random Burglar Posted 19 April 2007 Author Posted 19 April 2007 My degree is in Human Resource Management. I dont think they are too fussed that your degree has to be totally business based. I applied online, where they just asked me for my qualifications etc. I filled it in at 10pm and got a phone call at 10am the next morning. I was asked by the recruiter some more details on my qualifications. She then asked me if i could complete a telephone interview, she asked me questions about my strengths and weaknesses and other usual interview questions. I was then invited at the end of the telephone interview for a face to face interview which was set up for 3 weeks later.
Random Burglar Posted 20 April 2007 Author Posted 20 April 2007 Just got back, and....i have got through to the second interview stage. WOOHOO. This is a meeting with a branch manager in Leicester and if i get through that 1 there is an assessement day on 14th May. Its at the end of that day when i find out whether i have got the job or not.
hebangsthedrums Posted 28 April 2007 Posted 28 April 2007 Completely forgot about this thread, but congrats! If I apply I may pm for a bit of advice if that is OK?
