lookwhaticando Posted 27 April 2007 Posted 27 April 2007 ... developing story. They've recieved a record fine for the Argie signings... though fortunately, no points were deducted. That's good news because it means we still have a nice little relegation battle brewing.
Phube Posted 27 April 2007 Posted 27 April 2007 What I don't understand is; Why when West Ham illeagally signed them, how can Liverpool sign Masceranio(?) and play him from West Ham when they didn't get him legally. isn't this tantamount to buying stolen goods???
Geo V Posted 27 April 2007 Posted 27 April 2007 Its all weird stuff but apparently they wont make a loss on the deal as both Masch and Tevez werent bought for what we can describe as there current market values. Poor old egg, spends millions on the club, then pays millions to get them away from the relegation zone and that looks like failing and now has to pay a few more million for a mistake done by the previous management

They'd hardly be the first scousers toto be in possesion of stolen property now, would they?

Watch this space... I guess it depends on appeal success or failure.
Geo V Posted 27 April 2007 Posted 27 April 2007 Who actually gets the money? Surely it doesnt go into the FA coffers does it??? I know the FA are in desperate need of cash to fund football at grass roots level but surely its an extreme way of raising the cash and paying off Sven in one bulk payment??!!
Leicfox Posted 27 April 2007 Posted 27 April 2007 So Middlesborough get deducted points because their players had the flu, yet the cockney wankas flaunt all rules and end up with a fine. The 5.5M will be nowt if they end up staying up. No consistency with the FA is there ?

I know the FA are in desperate need of cash to fund football at grass roots level but surely its an extreme way of raising the cash and paying off Sven in one bulk payment??!! The Premier League is the organisation that imposed the fine... nothing to do with the FA's coffers, really. So Middlesborough get deducted points because their players had the flu, yet the cockney wankas flaunt all rules and end up with a fine. The 5.5M will be nowt if they end up staying up. No consistency with the FA is there ? As I indicated above, it's not the FA, it's the Premier League whose rules were broken - so the Premier League are the body that handed down the punishment.

But in imposing a fine the Premier League perhaps avoid an appeal which would be disruptive and they probably avoid action by the current West Ham management who, should they win any action against the previous management, won't then turn on the Premiership for compensation in relation to their loss of status. At least that's my immediate thoughts as a layman but whatever happens, the consequences could run and run. It is such a complicated world these days.
Tevez Posted 27 April 2007 Posted 27 April 2007 Who gave dispensation for Mascherano to go to Liverpool?
Master Fox Posted 27 April 2007 Posted 27 April 2007 Disgrace. Hopefully justice will be done and they’ll be relegated.
Joe. Posted 27 April 2007 Posted 27 April 2007 I know they haven't been deducted points or anything but to be fined 5.5 million is still quite hefty. They'll probably end up going down anyway...
DB11 Posted 27 April 2007 Posted 27 April 2007 My teacher is a West Ham fan and she was checking the site all day wanting to know what has happened. I asked her a question and she just said Yeah one minuted I've got something important to check... And then I said they should have been deducted points so they'd have had an excuse when they got relegated
Simi Posted 28 April 2007 Posted 28 April 2007 Fine cut on appeal. If they were already down points would of probably being deducted.
