Hmmm wouldn't surprise me to see him in the Premiership again.

Man City would seem the obvious option :dunno:

I think so. It's a massive task at Man City, the fans do seem very expectant.

I suspected as much. Managing Lyon justy seems to easy, 6 straight league titles I think now. Lots of players will leave aswell, Juninho is after a move to Real Madrid apparently :dunno:

Lyon were dissapointed that he failed to amount to anything in the Champions League. But when you play in the French League it's not exactly great preperation.

Iteresting decision really. Last season in the champs league they were so close to having a real go, but this season they were crap really.

Could be Man City. Wouldnt surprise me.

Gerard Houllier has stepped down as Lyon coach despite having steered the French giants to two successive titles since succeeding Paul Le Guen.

Speculation has been rife of late with regards Houllier's possible return to the Premiership, with the Frenchman thought to have been a contender for the Newcastle job, prior to their appointment of Sam Allardyce.

However, with the Manchester City job still available, it seems likely the former Liverpool chief will now be strongly fancied to be installed at Eastlands.

While Houllier has maintained Lyon's dominance on the domestic scene, in Europe they have struggled to make any real impression in the UEFA Champions League.

Houllier has a wealth of experience of English football and having overseen a Liverpool side that collected a plethora of trophies under his tenure, including the Uefa Cup, it seems unlikely that he will be out of work for long.

read on teletext that Sven has invited man city to speak to him

Yeh, Sky Sports News covered the story yesterday. After the stick Sven took with England it would be a massive gamble for Man City to choose him I think.

Sven is a great club manager, thats why he got the England job, i think most clubs in the country would take him, i certainly would.

I agree with you that he is a good manager. But I think a lot of fans would take the opinion that he would be a risk because of the reputation he gained with England. If he got the job, good luck to him.

And Sven came across as a really nice guy when interviewed by the BBC on Monday....

Not like that means anything...

It all comes down to whether he can re-double efforts on the training ground.
