hebangsthedrums Posted 26 May 2007 Posted 26 May 2007 Hi peeps, as an end of uni thing me and my housemates are going to Milan and then a week later Eindhoven and Amsterdam. I was wondering if anyone else had been and whether the stadium tours were worthwhile, how much they cost etc. Cheers ps put here as it is sport related, but apologies mods if its better suited to general chat
Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 May 2007 Posted 26 May 2007 I've been on the San Siro stadium tour but they were renovating the main stand when we went so it was restricted access I think. Paid cheaper price to do it but it was very poor. The club shop is excellent though, make sure you save some £££ or more accurately €€€ for there.

Like I say, it was restricted access, hence cheaper, hence not what you'd be going on so I'm not the best person to ask. It wasn't exactly a set time, you just got to wander up and down the side of the stadium and take a load of photos. The tour guide seemed pretty knowledgeable though and there's a museum as well that isn't biased either way - just a record of both clubs' history. The museum is fairly interesting.
hebangsthedrums Posted 26 May 2007 Author Posted 26 May 2007 OK thanks, I would probably have done it whatever the feedback was anyway, but at least I know no it whould be alright. Just need to save up some spending money
escape2victory Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 Year been to the Amsterdam Arena last year. Quality stadium. The tour is good and as well as going all around the stands, you go onto the pitch and can have your photo taken wiv ur mates etc by a proper photographer, and you go into the different areas of the stadium like the police control centre etc. Would recommend it. Oh quality name btw. Stone Roses r legends !
Mack Posted 27 May 2007 Posted 27 May 2007 I did the san siro stadium tour last summer. Takes a bit over an hour. The guide takes you into the main stand, gives you a little talk then allows you to wander around for 10 - 15 minutes and take pictures etc. After that it is down into the depths. You get to go into both the inter and ac Milan dressing rooms which are customised. I wont spoil it for you apart from to say the AC Milan dressing room looks like something out of star wars!! After that the guide takes you past the place where the TV do their after game interviews and back round to where the players come out of the tunnel and then it's back along the bottom of the main stand and off to the museum. At that point the guide says goodbye and you can either look in the museum or just leave. The museum is packed full of authentic artifacts from ac and inter plus all the big interantional / european games that have been played there. There is also a small place to buy san siro merchandise. Well worth the money in my opinion and a real eye opener into the World of the 21st century football superstar.
