Simi Posted 26 May 2007 Posted 26 May 2007 Skysports.com can reveal West Ham star Nigel Reo-Coker has handed in a transfer request. The Hammers skipper has decided to ask for a transfer after a meeting with the club to discuss his future. Reo-Coker, who helped the club achieve Premiership survival against all the odds, has decided to move for pastures new after he was not given the right assurances over his future by the club's board. The dynamic midfielder's advisor Tony Finnigan confirmed Reo-Coker had handed in the transfer request and he expressed his surprise that West Ham were willing to let the player leave Upton Park. "I can confirm that Nigel Reo-Coker has officially handed in a transfer request with West Ham United football club," Finnigan told skysports.com "Nigel hopes his future will be resolved in the next few weeks. " I am surprised that a 22-year-old Londoner who is captain of his club is being allowed to leave. "As I said on Sky Sports in January, Nigel would get his head down and work to keep West Ham in the Premiership. "And that is exactly what he did with 100 per cent commitment. "At the end of the day he never felt wanted but I am sure he will have a bright future elsewhere." Who to then ? Spurs? Toon? Liverpool? etc...
Brainy Posted 26 May 2007 Posted 26 May 2007 Liverpool me thinks just to be waste. Good point, one good season and Liverpool will be after you. Crouch with Soton, Craig Bellamy with Blackburn..
Daggers Posted 26 May 2007 Posted 26 May 2007 He spent the best part of his season dicking about in the style of a slightly more able Johnson. Please God, let him go somewhere deserving...like Birmingham or the Villa...
Joe. Posted 26 May 2007 Posted 26 May 2007 I very much doubt any of the bigger clubs will be after him. Somebody like Villa or Newcastle maybe
Father Ted Posted 26 May 2007 Posted 26 May 2007 Good point, one good season and Liverpool will be after you.Crouch with Soton, Craig Bellamy with Blackburn.. Liverpool have already been linked with every Spanish and good premiership player this season!!
The Reverend Posted 26 May 2007 Posted 26 May 2007 Spurs? Why not? They're buying every fecker else?!
Simi Posted 28 May 2007 Author Posted 28 May 2007 Spurs? Why not? They're buying every fecker else?! You can't say that they don't use there players well though. The likes of Keane and Defoe have both had a fair crack of the whip this season with Berbatov been on form.
