connolly19 Posted 10 February 2005 Posted 10 February 2005 Its says on the official site that Stephen Hughes may start. I flippin hope so. Who else can deputise for Williams. From what we saw of him against Crewe he looks good and is well worthy of a start when Williams is not fit. Surely he could not bring in Nalis or Gemmil. Or could he? Anyway im new to the forum so hiya

Ash Posted 10 February 2005 Posted 10 February 2005 It's hard to say wether Hughes can do a good like Williams does because i haven't saw much of him , but it's worth risking it & giving him a chance Welcome to the forum connolly19
City Fan Posted 10 February 2005 Posted 10 February 2005 I am pretty certain Gemmills contract won't be renewed when it runs out shortly. He has got Williams, Nalis, Gudjonsson, and now Hughes in front of him! Hughes should definitely start based on his (short) performance last Saturday.
Anish Posted 10 February 2005 Posted 10 February 2005 I'm pretty confident Hughes will start on Saturday. I'm looking forward to seeing more of him in action.
foxesfan69 Posted 10 February 2005 Posted 10 February 2005 I think It will be Hughes and Joey 65316[/snapback] What?? No super Gareth Williams??

I would like to see(even just for one game) Williams and Hughes in there. I know there is no natural defensive midfielder there but i think it could work. What do all you guys think?

You need at least one player in the centre of midfield who is capable of winning the ball with authority...
filbertway Posted 11 February 2005 Posted 11 February 2005 Maybe hughes can win the ball aswell??? I'm sure we will know what he's all about in a month or two.

We need someone in midfield who can break up attacks and sit deep to protect the back 4. Neither Williams, Hughes, Nalis or Gemmill actually offer that.
