Jonbluefox9 Posted 20 February 2005 Posted 20 February 2005 Did anyone see that mad man on the front row of the top tier, West Stand? He was a Leicester fan and the only one left in that stand which was for Charlton supporters. He was swinging his coat above his head and leaning over to join in with us singing. Looked like he was about to have a heat attack. He was hugging the Charlton stewards and begging them to let him stay in the ground a bit longer. It would've been nice for the players to have come out to warm down a bit sooner because the majority of us were still in the ground at least 15 minutes after the final whistle. I noticed them coming back out just as we were leaving through the corner but they were running behind the far goal. We had to wait for my Mum and sister to get back because they were on a different bus and we thought we'd wait for the players' bus but we decided that we could be waiting all night. Just as we drove out of the Filbert Way car park, the players' bus turned up so we just beeped our car horn at it.

We just started going mad in the minibus and got a wave off either MDV or Dion, couldnt tell which it was.
Solihullfox Posted 20 February 2005 Posted 20 February 2005 Yeah, was about 8.30 as I queued to get out of the car park. The team coach pulled in so gave a good blast on the old car hooter.
Scarby Posted 20 February 2005 Posted 20 February 2005 I think i deserve the credit here. Heard i had a ticket 1:30pm on Friday, left Scarborough at 2:30pm, M1 packd couldnt move 6 hours later arrived in Great Glen, Leicester. Up a 7am Saturday morning, nerves start to set in. Here we go. Only worry now is that is the person i am going to meet going to turn up. Got to the train station at 9am packed full of the ever loyal blue army. Met Durhamfox and NottinghamFox on the train of we went with a few beers! got into St.Pancras then went acoss to get the Kings Cross Thames Link, it was here where we had a minute to catch a train and i didnt have a ticket so i press any thing on the tude ticket machine thingys...so then to London Bridge, from there there was much confuson to which train to get. Got into Charlton i think about 11:50, straight to the pub Angloitalian or something where we saw Teeno and endolged in many a pint of guinness.....watched the Arsenal game. the pub was bangingAll left to the ground, where Nottinghamfox ran after Bernie to get his phote this is where you could say i was shiting it as i said good bye to Durham and Notts - they said they meet here whatever - so would East Anglia Fox turn good..i got a phone call 'Hello' 'eh..hello' i aid 'is that Scarbyfox' 'Yes it is ' 'Well we are by the enterance 5' Enterance 5..where was that, im by south enterance 4. It was 2.30pm loads of time by 2:45 i was worried...so was this a big prank? i phoned them straight to anwer michine, i phoned again (where they really at Charlton) i asked a stewart where is enterence five for leicester he says 'i dont know ' by this time it seemed i had walked around london ten times let alone bloody charlton ten minutes to kick off..i hhadnt given up hope yet another phone call, which went a little like this. 'hello' 'hello' 'where are you' 'where are you?' 'enterance 5' where are you?' 'dont know' 'hang on there are leicester fans going down a corner' 'i ran...then i saw them with me ticket' Sat in the East Stand by Exit 31!!! After match got out waited in th tube line queue for what seem a year...after about 1 mintes went across to Charlton Kebabe and got some grub yum yum...i reliased i hadnt eaten today yet. Got told by the same police 90 million times that the football special would be here in three minutes. (there must be a different time system in London cos it was a weird three minutes). Apparently it was the footie special we got on...to which i am questioning what is so special about it.....after that finally got to St. Pancras and got on the train had another beer got into Leicester at around 8 o clock i think.Durham, Notts and Scarby then went of to the Chinese that Notts promised use was open...it was closed. We departed said our goodbyes..it had been emotional. Got back to Scarborough at 1:30pm Sunday which for thse just waking is today! after a 3 hour drive., through snow and hail! I just want to put in a thankyou for all those who made it possible for me to attend the match espcially East Anglia Fox and his Dad to which i am very grateful (lovely people) and not forgetting DurhamFox and NottinghamFox for sticking with me and giving me beer after beer at 9 in the morning and for the packet of crisps which was purchased for me in the Charlton pub Thank You All
Jonbluefox9 Posted 20 February 2005 Posted 20 February 2005 I could see Joey near the front and Nikos at the back on his own but it was dark and it has tinted windows. We should've turned round and clapped 'em off the bus but we were already out of the car park.

adam Posted 21 February 2005 Posted 21 February 2005 We left at 10.45, parked up in charlton at 1. Headed straight to the Angloitalian. It was rammed. Couldnt move. quality atmosphere. Had 6 pints and headed to the ground. Crap ground. the lads behind got chucked out for standing up after about ten minutes. no need. Almost broke my leg when Dion scored as it got stuck about 3 rows back.Wasnt bothered as everyone was so happy. never seen a celebration like it. Got home abot half 7. Brilliant day out. Bring on the next round! we'll take anyone!
Scow Posted 21 February 2005 Posted 21 February 2005 Me, Ash and Cobbo were stuck on coach 9 that broke down on the A2 - Waited more than 3 fecking hours for a replacement coach to arrive. Didn't get home until midnight and missed MOTD. <_< Oh well, at least we won, and deservedly so. Tiatto was amazing fo me - He seemed to be everywhere in midfield, and looked great on the ball too. We dominated large parts of the game, with the 3 man midfield ensuring we received a lot of the ball.

Almost 900 of those fans made the trip to the Premiership outfit on a successful convoy of 17 Fox Travel coaches. "The atmosphere was fantastic and with the Megastore offers and the presence of the local media helped fuel the feel-good factor," said head of football administration Chris Tinbergen. "The result would have made for a happy return journey as well." However, the club would like to apologise to supporters on coach nine, who were inconvenienced when the bus broke down on the way home. City want to thank all the fans for their patience and the club will be contacting all affected passengers inside the next few days.
Teeno Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 Had a great day out aswell. Was in that pub for 11.30 Got back to p'boro for 8.30 but trains were cancelled and I had to wait for a coach which didn't come till 10.45. Then that broke down and I had to wait in Stamford for a replacment coach, so eventfully I got back at 1am Should of said hello Scarby!!!
Wilson Posted 22 February 2005 Posted 22 February 2005 When Coach 2 broke down on the way back from Man U last season we didn't get a call & I didn't get home till 4am.
