Kilworthfox Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 I have built my P.C but there is no picture! The power is fine and all fans are working so there is no power problem. When i connected the on board video it would not work! then I thought if i put my new graphics card in the problem would be resolved but no! I have attached all the leads to the correct plug ins (I think ) so what could I have missed? Are there any common problems? Cheers in advance!
Webbo Posted 13 August 2007 Posted 13 August 2007 Have you formatted it ? I don't know what it means but it might make me sound intelligent

act smiley Posted 14 August 2007 Posted 14 August 2007 Right, assuming you've got the graphics card in the slot properly ( seriously ), and its a relatively new one, it'll have an extra 6-pin connector on the end. Check its properly clicked on cause some of them are a pain to get on properly. Also, if its a beastily powerful one, make sure you've got a big enough power supply for it, some of the cheapo ones can't do what they claim to for more than about 0.1 second, though if it doesn't work with the onboard thats not likely to be the problem. Sounds like possibly you've also mis-set the little switches, that some motherboards have, too. The onboard sound usually defaults to off and needs turning on in the bios, so thats not really a problem. Is the working mouse PS2 and not-working keyboard USB? Cause sometimes USB defaults to off too.
Daggers Posted 14 August 2007 Posted 14 August 2007 Sounds as though the computer is working as well as the rumoured Murphy transfer
Ryanside Posted 14 August 2007 Posted 14 August 2007 Keyboard powered :Negative Sounds made: Negative If your using a PS2 mouse and keyboard that sounds suspiciously like you've plugged them in each other socket, swap them over and try again
