Ultra Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 I'm not sure other trees will feel the same way. Especially as it would be the first time for most of them that they'd see us beat you. Hope that plod and the stewards have sussed things out a lot more than they have on our last few visits.
Lord Nibblington Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 Whats that? Play poorly and get through? I`ll have that all day. Yup. I'd take it as well, but seeing as MA and the side were generally slated for doing it against Accrington, I'd just be interested to see what would happen if we did the same against Forest.
Peacefulred Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 can't imagine a cup run is too high on the priority list, just now? Spot on,for me the performance is more important than the result, for you i feel its the opposite.
Geo V Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 Spot on,for me the performance is more important than the result, for you i feel its the opposite. You dont get cup progression but playing well and getting beaten. In an ideal world we will win and play well like we did against Watford but if that doesnt happen, I`ll happily accept a win by any means than be more happy with a loss and play well. BTW, have you ever seen "White men cant jump??"
DB11 Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 We've just beat Watford 4-1 for christ sake. If we fail to win tonight then it has to be wondered why MA failed to get the players to be in the right frame of mind etc. If we play half as good as we did against Watford then we will have no problem over coming them. Edit: Make it clearer

Basingstoke Fox Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 Yeah, I'd absolutely love it if they were all over us for the whole game then in the last minute we run down the other end and score the winner. you know it could happen at the moment!!!
Aeropars Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 Not at all happy..... there best be something more heavy duty than a rocket put up their arse now.
Ultra Posted 28 August 2007 Posted 28 August 2007 Given what happened, the first half is now irrelevant. But I doubt Allen will ever get a team selection so badly wrong as he did tonight. Forest outmuscled and outfought us so much in the first half-hour it was embarassing. With N'Gotty, McAuley and MDV all out, we badly lacked any physical presence, and that's always a danger against a team from a lower division.

It was also bizarre to see Shaun Newton and Darren Kenton come straight back in at the expense of players who have been playing very well recently. Where was Kaebi, I know he lacks physical presence but his pace would have hurt Forest had the game counted. It worries me that Martin Allen is a bigger tinkerman than Benitez and Ranieri put together. I know we have a big squad and it's a cup game, but the changes weren't logical.
