Kaebi

Well. Playing 9 man up front might be a bit of a giggle, but I'm not sure our speedy defence will be able to cope with the pressure they're put under!

lol especially, all "1" of those defenders ;)

Didn't Kaebi play mostly right-mid for his club and right wing-back for the national team? I don't see how that suggests he'll be a dud as an attacking right-mid. And he'd be pushed to be any worse than Newton, thats for sure.

If anything, he presents more of an attacking option than Sheehan on the left, and he seems to have coped.

Yeah... but it's all about being a goal threat.:thumbup:

McAuley will probably have to give way when they're all fit. End up with something looking like:

Fulop

Chambers - N'Gotty - Kisnorbo - Sheehan

Kaebi - Wesolowski - Clemence - Ferreira

Hume - Cort/Fryatt/De Vries/Campbell

Very good looking team that.

And aside from whichever forwards don't play we'll also have the like of Kishishev, McCauley, Mattock, Porter, Stearman, Hendo on the bench. The squad is definitely looking quite strong, they just need to start playing together properly.

A McKay signing!!! Where does this idea that all our duff players were "Milan's" and all the good ones "Allen's" come from! Its chailshish at best, or is it just part of the "St.Martin Allen" Campaign?

As well as MDV has played at some parts of the season and as well as MF has done in the reserves and pre-season, I still dont think that we have to play a target man up front with the players we`ve got. When MDV came off against Palace we looked OK with Hume and DJ up front and I`ll like to see that partnership with ball playing midfielders backing them up before I dismiss it as a pair that wont play well together. I also think that McAuley has done well enough to be dropped. From what we have, I`d like to see this team play...

Fulop

N'Gotty - McAuley - Kisnorbo - Chambers

Kaebi - Wesolowski - Clemence - Ferreira

Hume - DJ

I know thats no left footed player playing on the left but I`d like to see if it would work. Playing right-footed players on the left seems quite successful with the likes of Koumas and Joe Cole excelling in that position. Chambers is an athlete who IMO could play anywhere and I think he will be solid enough over at left-back. I`d be at loathe to drop McAuley from the side as he has played well and weso and Clem would provide the sound base for our wider players and strikers to get going forward. These wide players wont encourage long ball or loads of crosses as Hume and DJ arent the best in the air but Ferreira and Kaebi seem the types of players who can create and IMO should start.

I think you have the midfield spot on, but I'd be wary of having both Hume and DJ up front together with that midfield. I'm not saying we shouldn't try it- it might just work, but If we're going to concentrate on having two pacy wingers putting balls into the box then you need guys in there who are going to get heads on the ball. DJ is not that kind of player, and although Humey can head, he'll be playing too deep I'd imagine. I'd probably go with Cort and either DJ or Hume in the first instance.

Also I'd want Chambers playing in a position of strength, which for him is unquestionably right back, with N'Gotty and Kisnorbo in the centre. Its harsh on McAuley, who'll have to make way, but its a nice problem to have in all honesty. I'd probably be tempted to play Sheehan slightly in front of Mattock at the moment, because it appears that Mattock is a little raw.

So:

Fulop

Chambers

N'Gotty

Kisnorbo

Sheehan

Kaebi

Clemence

Wesolowski

Ferreira

Cort

Hume/DJ

Bench: Hume/DJ, De Vries, McAuley, Kishishev, Hendo

Exactly! All we need is a proper left back rather than Mattock/Sheehan and we'd be sweet as a nut.

McAuley has been very good this season and N`Gotty has looked more solid as a right0back though hasnt he?

Not sure where you get the impression N'Gotty looked 'more solid' as a right back. He is our best player whether at right or centre half, but Chambers is an excellent right back so needs to be played there really, and McAuley is the one to go of him or Skip unfortunately for him.

He looked fitter than most to me. My immediate impressions were unreservedly good.

Kaebi looks as if he would fit easily into any team. He's busy, fit, balanced, fast, passes the ball well and the only things I'm unsure of are his reading of the game, his end product and his decision-making reliability.

Better than Chambers? I've no idea. Chambers looked excellent against Forest when two of his blocks were vital.

Our problem is that we cannot play all our best players.

disagree!

play the new guy on the left wing ( problem position and he has played there before) play chambers at RB ( looks very tidy there). and Kaebi at right wing.

Kaebi played right wing for his club but RB for his country so playing wing wont be a problem for him. :-)

I wouldn't be against that. But folk who gave N'Gotty such high marks for his defending at Plymouth might.

Just have to play him at CB. Unfortunate for McCauley but I'm sure he'd get plenty of chances as if that's the starting team then he's likey to come in if anything is up with any one of N'Gotty, Kisnorbo, Chambers or Kaebi (obviously at CB with others switching around as appropriate)

Kaebi is way better than Chambers. If anyone needs any reassurance on how Kaebi plays, take a look at some of these videos below.

I am and Iranian and i have always had him as one of my favourite players. He also played in my favourite club last season before moving to LCFC which he played great there. I have always followed his game closely. His fast, determined, great passing, great skills, and is very coordinated with the team (i am sure he will be with LCFC members too very soon). Together, kaebi and Mahdavikia (Iran National Team Current Captain) created the best right wing Asia has ever seen. He already has more than 50 international caps and is only 22 years old (almost)(his bday is in like 2 weeks-(1 day after mine :D ) 23rd of Sep). he made his national team debut at the age of 16!

I am sure he will play in the first team very soon. I hope Ferreira plays Left Wing and LCFC will become very strong on both wings.

Videos: these videos shows both his great offense and defense. enjoy.

All well and good - and it does show Kaebi's penchant for tackling on his backside. But the City videoman could show you other features from the last two reserves matches which don't quite show him as the Mr Perfection you seem to envisage.

Not just the back pass which almost led to a Lincoln goal (and which would have had all sorts up in arms had it been Sheehan or Mattock) but other mistakes which might well have been exploited by the Wolves forwards, particularly in the first half.

That's not to say Kaebi is not a good player. I like him. He's fast, well-balanced, has good skills, fits in with a team as you say. But just like everyone else he makes mistakes and sometimes important mistakes, not just with stray passes but with his positioning.

Better than Chambers? I've not seen enough to be sure one way or another but Chambers has done little wrong at right back for me so far and a couple of his blocks against Forest were both brave and seemingly vital at the time.

As I've said before new signings are always "better" and foreign new signings "better still". You could almost say more exotic. Look at all those who put Nielsen in their team without seeing him.

Me, I'll wait and see some more football before passing any judgment on Kaebi over Chambers or whether Kaebi should be our first choice right winger.

I think its way to early to start comparing players or talking of who is better than who. Chambers himself hasn't featured that much and has his work cut out to be our RB ahead of N`Gotty, I cant see him at RM so I think Kaebi has a heads start to get into the team, especially as he will be just as important in covering for N`Gotty if he parades forward like he sometimes does.

Lets hope they both make it big for us but I think the early signs are very good.
