I know the team has started to click the last few weeks, but seeing as it looks like were not going up would it be wise for CL to give the younger lads a chance? so they can get some experiance now and know what to expect next year? I think they should because the lads have been performing excellantly the last couple of weeks, Dawson,Porter,O'Grady,Dodds,Wesoleski,Logan etc all playing out there skin but not really gettin a sniff, you views!?

About 10-12 years ago i remember the Man Utd first team when the started to include the likes of Beckham, Giggs, Scholes, Butt etc. And now they are gelling together. Thats what we want a good solid youth system that is bring one or two players per season into the frame. I think CL is the man to do the job and hopefully espically next season we will start season more new young lads coming through cos at the moment because these new young stars arent getting a game such as Petrescu they are leaving. But of course the players have to be of quality and good enough. Hows that for ya keepers, any more questions?

Tommy Wright seems to do well when he plays and whereever his career takes him he will remain in out hearts for that goal against forest. I think all three are capable of achieving success at this club but did may take time. Anyway keepers why the sudden interest?

Ric Flair Posted 24 February 2005 Posted 24 February 2005 Having watched the academy and reserves alot last season and a few times this season I think that there are 4 or 5 players that have the potential to be good players, especially at this level. You look at teams like Crewe, QPR, Watford, Derby and a few others and they have no choice but to put youngsters in at times. These youngsters aren't necessarily any better than the academy players we've got, infact last season our under 17's came 2nd in the league and under 19's came 4th. The fact that this league isn't all about quality and experience, more about grinding results out I think it is a perfect opportunity to throw a couple of these lads in and see how they perform. You can never tell how good a player is until they play first team football. Matt Piper was nothing special for the academy and reserves, yet he got his chance in the first team and took the premiership by storm. Completely out of the blue, you can't teach that. Stearman looks quality, even when he was nervous against Reading he was the most composed player in a Leicester shirt that day! I think he could walk in to our team and stay there for aslong as he wants. Dawson impresses me every time I see him play, we lack a ball winner and a player who can distribute the ball well and Dawson can do both of these with his eyes closed. I can't understand why he hasn't been given some first team minutes, a player like Dawson wouldn't be phased by football at this level. If Levein doesn't want to use him this season then he should loan him out atleast, Man City wanted him for **** sake! Wright is a dubious one, make or break time for him. Never really been given a chance, but never really set the world alight either. Asking the question he can't be that good, but he is a quality finisher and thrives on confidence. He'll score goals in patches and then have a lean spell, if we could play him and build him up he could be dangerous. Levi Porter is the most skillful player i've seen this season, I watched him for the under 18's against Ipswich I think and he was man of the match. Very small, but look at SWP for proof, size isn't everything. He's quick, skillful, good finisher, good with both feet and got that arrogance you need to succeed. James Wesolowski is the gem of them all I reckon. Worried that he isn't getting the recognition at Leicester, Levein hasn't mentioned him but perhaps that's a ploy to keep the vultures a way. He's so technically gifted, I can see why Alan Hill said he has more potential than Kewell has/did. I would like to see him on the right of midfield, I know he's not a winger but he can play anywhere in midfield and we do need some more options on the flanks. Alan Sheehan is one player i've not seen much of. I have watched games with him playing but never really noticed him much, goes about his business well and has a lethal free-kick on him. Levein rates him according to an article in the mercury and he's recently been included in the Ireland under 19 squad. Louis Dodds scores so many goals at youth level, he always looks clinical when i've seen him. Getting to the age where he needs to push on, struck up a lethal partnership with James Graham last season for the Under 17/19's. Chris O'Grady is in the same boat as Wright, got potential and had league experience which dented their confidence. Not overly keen on him, seems mediocre to me. Get Stearman, Dawson, Wesolowski and Porter in the squad and see how they do.

Tommy Wright will never make it at this level, he couldn't do it Brentford.
