Thracian Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Henderson 7 (Had few difficult saves to make but he handled them soundly and had a good night) Kaebi 7.5 (Showed his class at times both in defence and attack. Constantly involved) Kenton 7 (Lots of good things but a bit erraticwith his passing at times) Stearman 7.5 (Apart from being inclined to drop back after the goal, organised the defence capably and did much good work defensively and in launching attacks). Chambers 6 (Solid enough defensively but still seemed uncomfortable in the position) Maybury 6.5 (Busy and most competent on the right flank and in various parts of the pitch) King 7 (Quality at times and always quick to pass the ball. One brilliant through ball early on produced a "goal" for Fryatt which was disallowed for being marginally offside ) Hellings 6 (Has skill but tended to take a touch too many again before his injury) Beswick 7.75 (Made the goal with a bit of brilliance and was involved in so many of City best moves) Fryatt 7.75 (Frustrating at times but scored the winning goal and might have had at least a brace) McKay 6.5 (Some good work but never quite got the passes he needed) Subs: Magunda 6 (Unsure at first but gained in confidence and involved himself well) Kee 6 (Certainly willing to have a pop and pulled one decent chance wide but generally found himself frustrated by determined defenders). Tuttle (Not on long enough)
Bryn Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 We've already got TWO threads for the game. And?
Milky Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 And? It's just a bit all over the place. People will have to jump from thread to thread to find out about the game, when it could all be in the same one.
Thracian Posted 3 September 2007 Author Posted 3 September 2007 did hellings injury look bad ? I never like to prejudge these things but he walked off and didn't look in any great distress.
davieG Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Henderson 6 - Still can't take to the guy and he needs to trust his defenders more and pass to them, his kicking is still pitiful Kaebi 6 - Looks very comfortable with the ball made some good forward burst towards the end that came to nothing also gave the ball away a couple of times, lucky they didn't lead to a goal Stearman 7 - Solid at the back, looks a lot more accomplished and more at ease on the ball at CB with more space, tried to pass the ball out of defence. covered for Kenton who was beaten in the air a number of times CB Kenton 5 - Beaten in the air too often for me, doesn't look like he wants to play although he did liven up later, still don't think he's a CB not even at reserve team level Chambers 5 - Just not a left back totally wasted Maybury 5 - This guy frustrates me he's so hot and cold I know he has it in him to be a decent Championship player but seems only able to show it in patches - lack of motivation? King 6 - Steady performance didn't have the best partners in Hellings (negative) & Magunda (anonymous) but tried to inject some action into the game Hellings 5 - Seems to have ability but afraid to use/show it, negative approach to the game although he did test the goalie with a long range shot Beswick 6 - Started off well disappeared in the middle of the match came back strongly at the end and provided the pass for the goal Fryatt 6 - Good patches and poor patches, pushed off the ball too easily, not only can he not head the ball he literally ducks out of the way. Frustrates when he tries to beat 3/4 men outside the box with players in better position calling for the ball. Simple finish for the goal Mckay 5 - I would imagine he felt a bit pissed off with hardly receiving a single decent ball all night, and Fryatt being too greedy to look up and see McKay better placed - felt sorry for the lad Subs Magunda 5 - Not a midfielder finished up at CB looking more comfortable Billy Kee 5 - Tried to hard for me over anxious and therefore didn't connect with the ball properly, looks hard as nails.

Thracian Posted 4 September 2007 Author Posted 4 September 2007 sounds like a young gary lineker Pity he doesn't look like one.
Lillehamring Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 We've already got TWO threads for the game. it seems standard practice on FT to have two post match threads: on for reports/discussion and one with at-a-glance player ratings...
