Craig Posted 24 February 2005 Posted 24 February 2005 Paul Dickov has not gone on Rovers' mid-season trip to Dubai - in order to make sure he is fit for next week's important league and cup action. The top-scorer is continuing to be troubled by a groin strain, which has affected him for some weeks and which caused him to be substituted late in last Sunday's FA Cup tie at Burnley. Rovers felt it was more beneficial for the striker to stay behind at Brockhall for regular treatment than take part in the training camp overseas. Manager Mark Hughes is hopeful that Dickov will be fit for next week's double header - the FA Cup fifth round replay with Burnley at Ewood Park on Tuesday night and the Premier League trip to Everton the following Sunday. I wonder if there's another reason to this :w00t:
aussie-fox Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 i think that would be dickov's decesion not the clubs, good thinking i say

Matt Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 Or maybe hes actually thinking about the fans this time, instead of the possiblity of another scandal, and saying "Oh i'll definetly stay i'm loving it here" just before he leaves....

spirefox Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 Dickov did nothing wrong,no more than McLintock,Nish ,Shilton,Lineker,Alan Smith McAllister,Heskey or O'Neiil did.

Ash Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 He wanted to play in the best league in England , whats wrong with that ?
Matt Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 -and Shilton, Smith and McAllister still have slight links with the club, commentating, invited back to the club e.t.c.... Lineker saved our club how on earth you can compared him amongst Dickov I don't know. Heskey donated money when we were in trouble, and he moved to Liverpool because he was young and to be fair he had no chance of playing for England while at Leicester! O'Neill has been our best manager for years, and again he still has small links with the club, mentions us, e.t.c. McLintock, Nish - I have no excuse for because I don't exactly know they full story during there moves...

spirefox Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 Sorry if the simple point I made wasn't clear. What he did was exactly the same as they did ,do what was best for him.Like them he will also keep his ties to us ,unless of course some small minded dickheads alienate him by forgetting what a great player he was for us.
Bedford Fox Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 and if we were in debt again i would like to think Dickov would put money in! He was a great player for the club and is a legend!!!
Muz Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 and if we were in debt again i would like to think Dickov would put money in! He was a great player for the club and is a legend!!! 71201 I was not going to get involved in this arguement again , but , Dickov is not a legend of this club the legends are Lineaker , Weller ,Worthigton and Dickov does not come close to any of them. Yes he did score some goals and was great for the club but to say he is a legend is going a tad to far
Matt Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 and if we were in debt again i would like to think Dickov would put money in! He was a great player for the club and is a legend!!! 71201 I doubt it...This is a rumour but the rumour is when Dickov left the City training ground for the last time Bassett offered to shake Dickov's hand, Dickov walked on ignoring Bassett, He then turned round and handed Bassett an envelope, inside the envelope was all the La Manga bills, you would have thought after all the support the club and fans gave he would have paid at least some of the bills...as I said it's only a rumour but if its true it makes me hate him even more. -I expected the club to pay the bail, and prehaps some of the bills but not all of the bills

Bedford Fox Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 Legend or not Dickov does not deserve the stick he gets off some LCFC "Fans"!!

Cobbo Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 Legend or not Dickov does not deserve the stick he gets off some LCFC "Fans"!! 71212 Yes he does.

He was a great player for the club and is a legend!!! 71201 Agreed Don't think many people will disagree about that!
Muz Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 Legend or not Dickov does not deserve the stick he gets off some LCFC "Fans"!! 71212 Thats your opinion. My opinion is that he is a money grabbing prat. I would not be botherd if he had not gone on TV a few days before leaving saying that he was staying and wanted to help us get promoted again. Great Player for the club and gave 110% every time he pulled on the Blue Shirt. And if i could have him back then i would be over the moon but i can not forgive him for waht he did.
Matt Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 HE DONT!! 71216 Why? At least all of us who hate Dickov state our reasons for hating him and we back our reasons up, but why doesn't he deserves the stick he gets? Oh he scored quite a few goals, is that it? Because that is the only reason i've saw posted, in the past i've posted more than 1 reason for my hate, so you got any other reasons?????
Bedford Fox Posted 25 February 2005 Posted 25 February 2005 I ve had this argument a 1000 times and i wont change my mind so we will have to agree to disagree
