Simi Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Fryatt helped turn the gmae at forest and scored last night. Every striker was shite at Charlton so why single Fryatt out?Cort / Devries / Elvis - no thank you. I just don't think he should be first choice. So many times last night, he had the chance to breakaway on the counter, but he was either caught or gave the ball away. Granted he had little to give the ball to. He did score, a good goal as well. I'm just not convinced he should start, yet.

Will Hume and DJ work? MDV and Hume? Cort? I just cant work it out. Maybe we should do a Rafa and tinker the squad and play certain strikers for certain matches? I just dont think anyone is stand-out enough to demand a first team place although Hume goes close but who is to say that a Fryatt/DJ Partnership wont be the best option?! confused.com

But theres many different centre backs we will come against, some we will need a pacey striker others we'll need a big man. I just hope when we need to make that decsion Megson makes the right one. Although we're yet to see De Vries near the team since Megson has been here... Possibly a Martin Allen man, who now isn't favoured?

Im not sure of MDV is a MA man as he was the one who put him on the transfer list (is he officially of it?) but DJ seems to be one of the players missing out so far although we will know more in want GM thinks when we see Saturdays team selection. Im glad GM dropped Cort after his Charlton performance. Lets hope CC manages to get his sharpness in the reserves before he gets back into the first team because it seemed like we were trying to get him match fit in league games.
Bert Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 We only signed him because of his relationship with Martin Allen who would have got the best out of him if of course he was still here. DJ was rather upset as i've said many times before when MA left. Personally after 10 or so games i think he'll start doing alrught for us. Another thing, he's hardly the biggest is he, look who he was up against last night? Two 6ft+ centre halves.

Even Kisnorbo was apparently left for dead by Harewood who knocked the ball by him and ran (according to RL) and that sums up the centre-halfs pace at this level. If we play the right way he has what is need to get behind them and score some goals but if we are lumping it forward, don't expect too much out of him!
