Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 If you remember the League Cup semi-final first leg in 2000, we set our stall out there to defend and come away with a 0-0 from the game - which we achieved. There are plenty of similar examples from the O'Neill era where we showed very little adventure in important games. Megson doesn't have to select an all-out attacking team to have a chance of winning this game and doesn't have to employ kamikaze tactics to try and get the fans back onside. Of course it would be nice but we don't have the players or the confidence right now to go there tonight and control the game. It will more than likely be defensive, it will more than likely be backs to the wall and hopefully we will see the sort of whole-hearted performance we've become accustomed to from our team over the last few years in the Cup competitions. :thumbup: :thumbup: :D
MPH Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 may have egg on my face for saying this come Thursday but I don't agree I think Leicester are a poor championship side. I went to the reply last week of the Forest v Leicester game and I saw nothing that concerns me about the Leicester team. Do not mistake the Leicester of old to todays distilled version they are but a shadow of their formerselves and do not have the skill or the fight of years gone bye. They have a new manager who we all know is rather predictable in his methods and the nature of the way his teams approach games especially against better opposition. I also don't think we will see quite as many changes to our team as some seem to think MON has hinted at 3/4 changes and I would assume one of these will be the keeper. I think the fact we have got until the Monday until the next game which gives the players a couple of extra days and MON the chance to play a stronger side than if we played on the Saturday. This made me sad, read it off Villatalk i think that the leicester/villa fan who wrote that now has egg on their face....
