Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 18 October 2007 Posted 18 October 2007 I personally think its a magnificent sporting achievement to do what they've done... possibly more impressive than four years ago regardless of the result on saturday
Micky Ruddle Posted 18 October 2007 Posted 18 October 2007 Definitely. Two World Cup finals in a row! Christ. The football team can't get to one cup final, let alone two. Swing Low. Sweet Chariot.
The Stig Posted 19 October 2007 Posted 19 October 2007 Fork up £20,000 on E Bay and you are guarenteed to go. Personally I'm more looking forward to Sheff Utd game on Tuesday, rugby isn't my thing.
David O'Leary Posted 19 October 2007 Posted 19 October 2007 Easily a better achievement than 4 years ago, started slowly but two amazing wins vs. the Aussies then the Frech. C'mon England, Swing Low Sweet Chariot
Floating Fox Posted 19 October 2007 Posted 19 October 2007 Sorry but how is reaching the final better than winning it? I don't see any sense..
David O'Leary Posted 19 October 2007 Posted 19 October 2007 Sorry but how is reaching the final better than winning it?I don't see any sense.. But we haven't lost it yet though...
Floating Fox Posted 19 October 2007 Posted 19 October 2007 But we haven't lost it yet though... No and hopefully we will win it But the quesiton was "Is reaching the final better than winning it 4 years ago" Clearly the answer is no?
dandannieldanok Posted 19 October 2007 Posted 19 October 2007 No. Winning the tournament would be a greater achievement than 2003 but just reaching the final wouldn't be IMO. I'm not undermining the achievement this year but winning is the ultimate.
Ultra Posted 19 October 2007 Posted 19 October 2007 But this side is weaker in many areas (no Johnno, Greenwood, Back or Dawson) than the England team of 2003. That team went into the World Cup as favourites and eventually, after some scares, justified that tag. The current side looked at one stage (after the 36-0) as if it would go out at the group stage. To recover from such a dire predicament and make the final is an incredible achievement.
PAULCFC Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 Mrs and all her side of the family are Tigers season ticket holders.I've tried to get ino rugby(wen't to Leinster the year before last and Munster last year.....the atmosphere is amazing...no trouble, great banter, not afraid to show your colours around the city your in...........But still bores me stupid!England might win the world cup tommorow, lewis hamilton might win a racing thing........but all i'm pissed off about is i've got to go to work 6-6 when leicester are playing s****horpe....ON SKY!
Geo V Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 Its a great achievement as we were in the shite leading up to this event but winning the trophy is what its all about as no one really remembers the runners-up.
Tevez Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 Fair play England, as much as i dislike Rugby, made me proud tonight.
Joe. Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 We gifted South Africa that to be honest. If we hadn't been stupid enough to gift them 6+ points it could have been a different game. And if that try had been given also, who knows what could have happened? How can you get a decision wrong even with video evidence? All ifs and buts I know but it's very annoying.
Durnerz Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 Second game today I feel cheated by, so harsh for Cueto to have the try disallowed. Credit to England we battled hard and all the way to the end restoring some much needed pride to the country after the let down in Russia.
C-man Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 I'm disgusted with officials tonight. Disgraceful.
