davieG Posted 3 March 2005 Posted 3 March 2005 Young british something to prove..........CL has he taken a leaf out of MON's book.... he got the raw talent of IZZ/LENNY/SAV and made them what they are today. Patrick McCarthy looks a decent addition, lets hope he has the qualities that we require. If hes been training alongside anelka/fowler/philips at MC that must have been a good thing as they are all good fowards. If Im honest i think we need someone next who can hit the 'Onion Bag' on a reg basis. MDV needs to start scoring! 73519 I don't need to say anything more But not British mate! Not with a name like Paddy McCarthy 74028 Hi ho Silver, What do you think about young McCarthy joining the mighty LCFC?

He was also (I think) part of the set up for the Irish under 16 side that won the European Championships in 1998...so the ingredients are all there for him to achieve a lot with us! It also seems that Man City fans are sad to see him go...feck it, I'm happy if you are In terms of defenders...Levein knows what he is doing!! Hows yourself anyway Davie
Jonbluefox9 Posted 3 March 2005 Posted 3 March 2005 I've heard from a good source that he was having talks with Sunderland towards the back end of last year but Keegan was still unhappy about the Elliott deal so he halted negotiations. Looking at some of the youngsters Sunderland have signed recently he looks like he would've been another one they wanted. We've snatched him from under their noses.
SilverFox Posted 3 March 2005 Posted 3 March 2005 Oh, and Levein isn't in Belgium...the Biker that is Mad says hes in Germany!
Louise Posted 4 March 2005 Posted 4 March 2005 Another stat attack At the moment our squad's average age is: 26.6 (including Scowy and Makin, as they're still technically ours) In the summer after the expected players have left (Makin, Scowy, Wilcox, Blake, Nalis, Dublin, Gemmill, Kenton) and Kisnorbo comes in, our average age will be: 24.4

As for the football, err is Chandler watching I'm obviously unhappy with our league results and position but I have, with a couple of exceptions enjoyed what I've been seeing a lot more and the Cup is a nice bonus lets hope it doesn't distract too much. I'm impressed with Levein's openness and I am optimistic that his signings will bear fruit of course if the odd one doesn't, and no manager is perfect then they shouldn't be too hard/expensive to move on. So all in all I guess the short answer would've been fine hows about you.
