mancunianfox Posted 18 December 2007 Posted 18 December 2007 We're staying in Docking, a tiny village near Brancaster. Kinda the middle of nowhere!! The Lifeboat Inn on the coast at Thornham is fab - highly recommended. Chances are you'll need to book though. Lifeboat InnBurnham Market has some nice shops - well worth a visit. Very posh - kinda Knightsbridge-on-Sea, 4x4 heaven, but worth the trip for people-watching if nowt else. Satchells - very nice independent wine merchants. Satchells Let me know if you want any other suggestions! Oh, and if you're bored, could you be a pet and pop over to Chez AoWW to cook Christmas Dinner. Ta muchley I will be spending my Christmas in Norfolk as my parents live in those parts. Nice to visit but a horrid place to live. I went to school round there for a bit and from my experience the people are quite strange in Docking. I can second The Lifeboat as well worth a visit and Burnham Market is lovely too. I also really like Wells but I'm not sure if it would be as nice over Christmas. I always pop over there to stock up on homemade cider Most of that coast (Old Hunstanton, Thornham, Brancaster, Wells, Sheringham) is nice. Theres an excellent little seafood place on that route as well that do the best seafood salads.
Phube Posted 18 December 2007 Author Posted 18 December 2007 I've not been to the Lifeboat, but I've been to the White Horse at Brancaster Staith. That's really nice!! Any SkySports pubs in or around Docking???
