Dames Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 Lee cox is a very good player mate and yes he can play midfield too!I think this could be a good gamble by ollie the players he drops are basically the ones that don't give a shit and the kids well they've got everything to prove so will just work there bollocks off and we need a bit of that in our team right ?! He does look like Patrick McCarthy abit though
GianEmmo Zola Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 was in lough last night and i seen billy kee scott garner and howard plodding about in vice versa ha! also seen gary mcallister in there necking off with a 20 year old girl!
Geo V Posted 22 December 2007 Posted 22 December 2007 If Ollie wants to throw in the kids as he says, he might as well start looking for a new club because he wont get us promoted over the next 24 months with our youngsters and MM will not put up with spending two years to develop the kids. Its just yet another comment in the media to unsettle the under-achieving senior players which I must admit, as much as I like Ollie as a character, this is really poor man management. Ollie should be trying to get the best out of his players on the training pitch, in the dressing room and hopefully out on the pitch and this kind of outburst will only unsettle them more which they dont need. We have some decent players who need a confidence boost and statements like the latest wont give them the belief they are lacking. They haven't all become shite overnight you know!

We shouldn't be thinking about promotion now. We need results now to pull us away from the drop zone and if the kids are more up for the challenge than the senior players then why not let them show what they can do? Over the next 24 months he'll have brought in many of his own players but right now he has to pick the best out of what he's got and if they're under 18 or over 18 doesn't matter a great deal. The under 18s might play with less fear then some of the 'pros'. If senior professionals feel threatened by the promotion of one youngster then they need to have a look at themselves and say 'are we really good enough to be at this club?'. They should see it as competition that will bring the best out of them. Finally, no, they haven't become shite overnight but some haven't been good enough for a long time before now.

No they've not but he needs some room to instal his own signings and has been decisive about who he wants moving aside. He's presumably been seeing stacks of effort, determination and willingness to co-operate from the young players and decided that they are a better investment on the basis of cost, ability and enthusiasm than players who are treading water, going backwards or not contributing to the mood in the camp. There is no doubt in my mind that every one of those players has had a fair chance to make an good impression at Leicester and none can complain about being out of the picture now.
