Holloway to gamble on young guns

A bit of a simplistic interpretation of the situation from the Mirror, thee can't be many more than the ones he's already using, certainly not that will improve thingas.

Leicester City boss Ian Holloway will "throw in the kids" as the relegation-threatened Foxes head into a critical Christmas campaign.

Holloway admits there will be "comings and goings" at the Walkers Stadium next month after a bitterly disappointing start to his reign. His side will come up against Wolves, Ipswich and Charlton over the festive period. And Holloway said:

"I've inherited a fantastic bunch of youngsters and I'm ready to chuck them in. "I need the energy that some of the kids bring and I'll be forced to tell some of the other players it's time to move on."

"the relegation-threatened Foxes" :nono:

It's Painful to read such statements again!

After last season I actually believed that we'd never have to go through such an awful season for a long time. I never imagined it would get this bad so soon.

I'm not looking forward to the Wolves games tomorrow at all. Hopefully getting drunk will make it easier to watch.

It's the rambling lunacy isn't it?

Yes, as well as his penchant for youth and meaningless turn of phrase. I really want Holloway to be a success, but at the same time I think our worst fears have been confirmed. Thracian is effectively now our manager.

What a sad and pitiful indicement upon our so called experienced players eh??

They should be a shamed of the situation.

Having to play second fiddle to the youngsters.

Hopeless...

Fair play to the youngsters...thay have done well and deserve the chance to play for shirt.

Just hope they dont turn out like the older fcukers.

Im getting very negative and bitter ...im sorry..... :santa:

Bruno N'Gotty has been our best defender as well this season. I think he's had a fall out with Ollie, because ability wise he's still better than Kisnorbo and McAuley put together bar their ability to score goals.

Agreed, I would be very disappointed if he was one of the 6, although I was very sceptical about his signing in the summer he has proved to be reasonable acquisition.

There aren't many other youngsters left to play. I wish we could bring back Gradel, he's one youngster i'd have no qualms about playing.

Ashley Chambers should be given another crack as well.

Hopefully seeing the boy in action tonight. Should tear Northampton to shreds hopefully.

There is not one senior player i'd be bothered if they were to be shifted out.

All of this nonsense like ‘He’s been our best player this season’ is b*llox!! We’ve not had a good/best player for about 5 years. People need to understand not one of these players is really worth holding onto. This team needs to be torn apart and reassembled under Ollie’s terms. Anyone in the squad that played under Rob Kelly or Craig Levein shouldn’t be anywhere near our first team. That approach would resolve our problem quite rapidly, it’s just a shame it wasn’t done in the summer.

Its like having Thracian as manager. In fact I am finding it increasingly difficult to tell them apart.

As a manager you'd never get me commenting on players in public - except to praise them.

And the "fantastic" youngsters he talks about aren't capable of beating Championship opposition on their own.

I think he's just decided they're every bit as good as the guys who are on the the move and at least he'll be able to motivate them cos they might have a future here.

Our team is so lacking in pace and energy and Holloway clearly intends to do something about that. He has to.

Trouble is it is also lacking in the know-how and strength provided by class seniors which he will presumably put right when the transfer window opens.

Thankfully the people most being mentioned as targets would seem purpose made for that.

It's only a glimmer but I'm becoming optimisitic that Holloway's going to get us playing some fast, competitive football again.

Doubtless we'll go back before we go forward but it's beginning to sound like someone, at last, is making the changes that others have been afraid to make and, more important, that Mandaric is prepared to back him.

I just hope the chairman's nerve holds if the turnabout gets us relegated first - and I'm quite serious.

This sort of crunch has been coming since the days of Levein and Kelly.

Their teams might have "survived" by the grace of good fortune but no more. The only way we'll eventually go upwards is with pace, attitude, passing and moving. But it will take time to make the transition anywhere near complete.

Au contraire, my friend, eleven Levi Porters would rip ANY team to shreds.

Remember?

He's been left on the bench recently, hasn't he? It's time for him to have a stromer again, it's blatant he's going to be very inconsistent for a fair few years yet but when he's on the money, it's jackpot, repeat x 3.

They've got a threadbare squad and seven injuries so I'm hopeful but he was on the bench last time out and it was their first home win of the season he'll probably be there again. As long as he comes on for a good twenty minutes or so that'll make standing in the ****ing freezing cold on a Friday night watching two shit teams all worthwhile.

Subs not used: Gradel.

Kaebi is a youngster and if he has players around him who push and run like he does then he might finally be an asset. But there's no way he'd do any good in a team of hoofers as was abundantly clear at Hull.
