Posted 23 December 2007 Posted 23 December 2007 Be warned - once you've signed up to Facebook, you can't EVER get rid of it.And it also monitors all the other activities you use your computer for (such as online shopping) and thus be used by ID thieves. There are plenty of other networking sites that are far less intrusive than that one. maybe you can fill me in on the brand new web technology that allows it to do that, because as far as i know that is impossible.

I don't know if it's true but they did say on this programme that not only were they going to target people based on their declared interest on the Facebook site but also on other places they've visited whilst on the web. In fact that were going to build up a dossier of information for all individual members by gathering information from every public source available and then use it to target individuals on behalf on advertising agents. They did say the information gathered would not be made public although how secure it would be is anybodies guess.
