davieG Posted 3 January 2008 Posted 3 January 2008 Manager this season. Ian Holloway will create a strange record tomorrow - Leicester City's longest serving boss of the season! Today his six weeks, the time Gary Megson remained in charge, are up. And that easily beats Martin Allen's four weeks from the day the campaign kicked off. Holloway has been in charge for 11 Championship games (two wins and four draws) - more than either of the others. But his aim remains the same as when he took over - to instil a positive attitude to combat the downbeat mentality he inherited. Holloway feels too many of the squad have been so used to a lack of good results that they are finding it hard to react to the measures aimed at turning the mood in the camp to one of optimism and confidence. Holloway said: “I have told them a few things about positivity and that it starts in every stride you next make. “They have got to forget the past and look forward to a bright future.†Holloway feels the more new faces he can get in the better, and he made a start this week by landing Steve Howard and Barry Hayles. He said: “My two new lads will pave the way. Steve Howard showed at QPR what it was all about by his performance. Barry Hayles never stopped chasing and trying, which he has always done for me. “They have not been tainted by what has gone on here before and we need another couple of players like that to give us a lift and a boost.†Negotiations for Sunderland's Graham Kavanagh are on-going, but Holloway concedes the move for Black Cats goalkeeper Marton Fulop is all but dead. There are other targets City are working hard to sign, and Holloway said: “The players I do bring in will be those who want to play for us and share the hunger for success we all have.†Looking ahead to Saturday's FA Cup third-round tie at Southampton, skipper Stephen Clemence is suspended, so James Wesolowski could slot straight in. Otherwise, apart from striker Collins John with hamstring trouble, there are no serious injury concerns.

Marton doesn't really want to come here kind of thing. So if the Fulop move is all but dead, are we looking at any other keepers? I mean surely we're not about to rely on Hendo and possibly, if we recal him, Logan for the reminder of this season are we Or is this just another ploy to get the deal moving along faster

Let's put it another way then Ollie, shall we?.....you've lost more games than any previous manager this season. Positivity does not come from just speaking the words....I think you'll find that is "Neuro Linguistic Programming". The people that sell that tosh say it works.....the people that buy it are too depressed to comment
