davieG Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Posted on: Sat 09 Feb 2008 A last minute goal from Andy King sealed a 1-0 victory for City's under 18 side at Cardiff on Saturday. The young Foxes went into the game looking to bounce back from their 3-1 Fifth Round FA Youth Cup defeat at the hands of Chelsea last week. And First team squad member King, making a rare appearance for the youth side, smashed the ball home in the dying moments to snatch the points in difficult conditions. Academy manager Jon Rudkin said: "Andy was away in midweek with the Welsh under 21 side and we got the opportunity to give him a run out to give him some extra match minutes this afternoon. "He did very well in difficult conditions. He certainly put in a good work out for us. "It was a very scrappy game. We just kept going and managed to grind it out in the end." City: Pentney, O'Neill, Garner, Turner, Cobb, Tuttle, Cox, Burns, Beswick, C King, A King. PS - Apologies for getting Saturday's fixture wrong in the calendar I hope we didn't have too many down at Belvoir Drive expecting to see them play MK Dons - Academy Fixtures
Thracian Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Nice to know Kingy's still around. Pity he wasn't on the first team bench instead of pissing about with the kids. Cos Holloway's golden boys did sod all of any note in our midfield.

Jonbluefox9 Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Where have the strikers gone? Craig King's played as a striker before. He might even be a striker but has been played on the wing due to strong competition this season?
