Head Honcho Posted 5 March 2008 Posted 5 March 2008 It's only in bladddy Maidstone!Who's coming? If you can promise no boy bands and no RnB and no fvcking Sugababes then I'll think about it!
The People's Hero Posted 5 March 2008 Author Posted 5 March 2008 If you can promise no boy bands and no RnB and no fvcking Sugababes then I'll think about it! I've got no idea, but it IS in Maidstone. This is the only thing that's ever happened in Maidstone, apart from Wat Tyler being from here.
hairy Posted 5 March 2008 Posted 5 March 2008 This is the only thing that's ever happened in Maidstone. Apart from when you arrived Radio 1s One Big Weekend is expecting around 20,000 revellers to descend on this years site at Mote Park, Maidstone, Kent. The event usually has three arenas: a Main Stage, In New Music We Trust Stage and an Outdoor Arena. With a mixture of up-and-coming artists, established talent and plenty of DJs the two-day festival is bound to have something for nearly everyone pop, dance, indie and rock. Those wanting to go must register first with revellers picked at random based on their postcode. You need to register for tickets and then its a lottery allocation by postcode, whatever that means. So far only Scouting For Girls are confirmed. You should move out and rent your pad for the weekend.

The People's Hero Posted 5 March 2008 Author Posted 5 March 2008 I once walked from Chatham to Maidstone. I can understand leaving Chatham, but arriving in Maidstone must have been a kick in the balls.

It was 1982/83 and I'd ran out of money so had to walk to the nearest Bristol and West for funds but you're right it wasn't too pleasant and the estate opposite the footy ground was a dump.

How times have changed. They now rent off of Sittingbourne FC. Sad really.

accessory Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 I've got no idea, but it IS in Maidstone. This is the only thing that's ever happened in Maidstone, apart from Wat Tyler being from here. Now there was a real "people's hero"...
coale39 Posted 10 March 2008 Posted 10 March 2008 So.... we're all over this... right? Tut you always say how s**t maidstone is and your expecting people from Leicester to travel all the way down there to see Scouting for girls! At least try and make Maidstone sound passable!
