colbo68 Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 For me, now is the time to do the following: 1. Get rid of Holloway - if he gets up from Div 1 into the Championship, it is clear that he does not have the neccessaries to do well if we do go up - we need a long term vision for the club with the correct manager to lead us for the next few years - that, as been proven this year, is not Holloway 2. Get rid of the journeymen - we have never had a better chance to bring through the youth, develop a good young side (with a couple of older heads in it) and to build not only for next season, but for the next few years 3. Don't get in Steve Walsh - as much as I love him and used to sing his praises week in week out when I was younger - I just feel that he won't have the strength of character to give the players a kick up the arse when they need it. I dont question his commitment to the club, his passion and his honour, but I don't think he's enough of a bastad (like Ferguson, Wenger, Hughes etc...), which, to my mind, is what the club need - we don't need another Holloway (who is a likeable character, a friend of the players and all that), what we do need is someone the players are respectfully frightened of - all the best managers have that one key attribute about them - the fear factor, which, I regret, Washie wouldnt command. Comments please

thecannon Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 Yeah, we need someone like Roy Keane. Look what he did with Sunderland. Not bad ey?
Vennegoor10 Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 Mourinho was a friend of the players-style manager was he not? Maybe just a hunch

ASH17LCFC Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 1) Sack Holloway 2) I'll get a season ticket 3) Get rid of the likes off Clemence, Howard, Oakley, DJ and Hayles. 4) Play a team what are not here just for their last big pay out and will not talk crap in the papers in all week. 5) Get a Captain in who isn't a tart. 6) Get rid of Holloway please.

lookwhaticando Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 Get over it Holloway is staying.....! Holloway, whose job is under review, played in the third tier for Bristol Rovers, and managed QPR to promotion. Leicester City boss Ian Holloway has been told it is "business as usual" at the club, as chairman Milan Mandaric reviews his position.
eaststandtom Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 Mourinho was a friend of the players-style manager was he not?Maybe just a hunch so was peter taylor apparently
ASH17LCFC Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 So you want to get rid of Holloway, even if he gets us up? Thats a tad harsh, dont you agree? If he gets us up then he would have right his wrongs but honestly he doesn't deserve the chance to.
The Reverend Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 I like jellied eels. Eeel's up inside ya.....findin and entrance where they can...
Dom_Harborough Fox Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 I think Holloway is staying so there's no point carrying on about getting rid of him because it's not going to happen. If he gets us straight back up he will be here next year as well, whether its what we want or not, because Milan is not going to sack a manager that has just got us promotion. The only way Holloway is going anywhere, in my opinion, is if he has a dismal start to the season or if we get to xmas & we are not really chalenging. Until then, we should just accept that he is here & get behind him since he is the manager of our club.
sdb Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 Yeah, we need someone like Roy Keane. Look what he did with Sunderland. Not bad ey? 'someone like roy keane' eh? brilliant. roy keanes brother? another ex-pro who intentionally injured others? why not just get someone like alex ferguson? it's that easy
Daggers Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 Duncan Ferguson is the answer. Not to question 17 on the Key Stage 2 Science SAT paper B he bloody wasn't. It was "Water cycle".
Koke Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 Duncan Ferguson is the answer. The only credibility Duncan Ferguson has is that he can knock 7 shades of shit out of any player who put in below average performances. Then again, so can I. And I'm bigger than Duncan.
Koke Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 Me & Thracian dream team management. He does the tactics and I do the ****ing motivation. Reciepe for success, I tell yer.
Scow Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 Me & Thracian dream team management. He does the tactics and I do the ****ing motivation. Reciepe for success, I tell yer. League 2 here we come.
ASH17LCFC Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 Billy Davies is still nowhere, why not him ? The guy worked wonders at Derby and Preston.
marbelladave Posted 14 May 2008 Posted 14 May 2008 Billy Davies is still nowhere, why not him ? The guy worked wonders at Derby and Preston. Of the 'known' managers who might come to us, he is one of the best. His record with a very modest Derby side is impressive! Can't really think of anyone else who would a) Be any good, and b) Want to come to us! Kareem and Thracian would be a good choice with just a couple of changes!
