mitchofox Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Gregory tipped for City returnby Tim Murray Former Leicester City first-team coach John Gregory is being strongly backed to return as the club's next manager. And Blackpool boss Simon Grayson's price has also been trimmed after the Seasiders revealed they would not stand in the way of him leaving the club. Gregory, who has managed Aston Villa, Wycombe, Derby and Queen's Park Rangers since his spell at City under Brian Little in the '90s, was 16-1 with Leicester bookmakers Mark Jarvis when betting opened this week. But he has been backed into 3-1 third-favourite behind Billy Davies and Grayson. It is a similar story with Victor Chandler, who have trimmed the former England midfielder's odds from 20-1 to 4-1. Jarvis spokesman Scott Upton said: "We have some heavy liabilities over Gregory. About 75 per cent of the business in the last 24 hours has been for him.'' ( thebluearmy) please dont come gregory (ps sorry if this has already been posted) not him please
Phil Bert Fox Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 PLEASE MILAN NO, NO NO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NO NO NO JUST NO!!!! Don't you ****ing dare! Wonder if the Mercury will have that for a headline? Larry for me
JoeyB Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 We should of got Neil Warnock, if only people hadnt of wrote in saying dont.
Webbo Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 We should of got Neil Warnock, if only people hadnt of wrote in saying dont. I have since spoke to Neil Warnock when he came to Walkers with Palace. He said to me that he was in talks about becoming Leicester manager (before Allen) when MM said "I have a couple of players already lined up for you" At this point Neil no longer wanted the job. Now this is Neil's veiw of what took place. So I dont know if it is 100% true. This sounds very plausible to me. MM didn't worry about the fans opinion when he sacked Allen or hired Megson.
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 So does Gregory playing the amazing, attacking, free flowing, entertaining football that Milan has been ranting on about in what he wants to see from the team next season? NO. Neither does Lambert & Cotterill.
Dom_Harborough Fox Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 NO NO NO!! I don't like the guy anyway but just the memory of him in charge of Derby against us at the Walkers wearing that purple shell-suit thing was enough to persuade me that he shouldn't really be allowed out in public, let alone in charge of our club!! I'd rather have Peter Taylor back, although I was delighted to see that he has now taken over at Wycombe, getting rid of any lingering fears!
Frenzied Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Gregory would be a disaster. I'm in two minds about renewing my season ticket now, following that story.
davieG Posted 31 May 2008 Posted 31 May 2008 From Bentleys bnet Posted on 31/05/2008 07:42 Our next manager is Mr G Its between Grayson and Gregory, Gregory as another meeting this week with MOF. Gregory thinks hes got the job, but if what a couple of you have said below is right MOF could be just distorting the bookies odds. If l was a gamberling man l would bet on Grayson. I seemed to have forgot or missed something, why does everyone hate Gregory so much? By the way none of these two would be my choice, but we'll get what we'er given and the club will carry on being screwed by bandits. The call l got has got the last 3 managers right and he is very close in them circles at the City also with the press.

davieG Posted 31 May 2008 Posted 31 May 2008 Oh, ewe and your wit. Which is more embarrasing my wit or being an LCFC fan
Tilley Posted 31 May 2008 Posted 31 May 2008 I'm doing a davieG. IF Gregory takes over, my season ticket is not being used.
Ultra Posted 31 May 2008 Posted 31 May 2008 The Mercury mailbox today was almost universally hostile towards Gregory. I'm sure the chairman will have seen the message.
